Is anyone familiar with Wilbers Adjustline shocks? I see that people using Ohlins use a external reservoir connected by a hydraulic line because lack of clearance with the Saddlebags? Are the external reservoir essential to good performance on a touring Bike?

No, the Ohlin's HD-772's are the shock to use for hard harley touring and burning up the twisty's. All out racing or bragging rights, spend the extra money for the look at me external reservoir shocks. I can sell you what you want but prefer to sell you what you need.
