Scandisk Cruzer USB stick
« on: April 04, 2017, 08:19:53 AM »

Thanks to Jerry, bought a 64Gb USB drive from Amazon. Work fine for a while, now it cant be recognized on my Boom! Audio anymore? I have formatted it several times, most recently the long version. I plug in a Walgreens USB and it shows up, the Scandisk...It no longer appears on the Boom! Audio list of available devices. It shows up on my laptop and i can move file to and from it from laptop, just cant be seen on HD.

It is driving me nuts, nay one have any ideas? And yes, the format was FAT

Thanks in advance

Live Chat

Aria Y.: Hello. Thank you for contacting SanDiskĀ®. I'll be your Customer Care Specialist for today. One moment while I look into your question.
 Aria Y.: Hello Glenn.
Aria Y.: Could you please tell me which SanDiskĀ® product are you using?
 Glenn : Cruz
 Glenn : USB storage
Aria Y.: Is it a flash drive?
 Glenn : https://www.sandisk.com/home/usb-flash/cruzer-fit
Aria Y.: Thank you. It is a flash drive.
 Glenn : yes

Glenn : So I use this on my Harley which has a USB cable. I can add files to your drive and when I plug it into the bike it shows up as a media device. Now all of a sudden it will not show up. I have formated the drive few times and
Glenn : Still will not show up as a media device
Aria Y.: Glenn, i which file format your drive is formatted in?
 Glenn : FAT
 Glenn : EXFAT
Glenn : i have plugged in another USB into bike and it is recognized
Aria Y.: Glenn, please format the drive into FAT32 format, as this file format is supported by all the entertainment devices. Please refer to the link given below in order to know how to format it:
https://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/312/
Aria Y.: Note: Backup all your data before formatting. Formatting will erase all data on the memory device.
Glenn : that is not an option on my USB drive only EXFAT and NTFS
Aria Y.: Please tell me what is operating system of your computer?
 Glenn : Window 8
 Aria Y.: Alright.
Aria Y.: Please format it using HP Disk Utility tool:

Aria Y.: Also, I would like to inform you that to use a flash drive on an entertainment device it should be formatted in FAT32. Because this is the fie system all entertainment devices support.
Glenn : says i cant open it as I dont have admin permision
Aria Y.: Glenn, after downloading the file run it as admin.
Aria Y.: Click on the Run as admin option.
Glenn : OK, looks like FAT32 is option now and formatted
Aria Y.: Great. Now you can use it on your Harley.
Glenn : so, why did that change? I was able to use it previously
Aria Y.: That might have caused due to the file system limitation.
Glenn : ok, thanks for the help
 Aria Y.: You are welcome.
Aria Y.: Is there anything else I may assist you with?
 Glenn : No, thanks
 Aria Y.:
Thank you for contacting SanDiskĀ® Global Customer Care, and you have a great day, Glenn.
