Alloy Art "Cush Drive"
« on: April 05, 2017, 04:00:13 PM »

I had one of these units installed yesterday while doing tires and thought I'd share.  Wow! what a difference .... smooth solid acceleration no more hesitation in the driveline. The stock unit felt mushy like a stress ball. The Alloy Art has some give but is firm kinda like a racquet ball. Best $40 I've spent in a long time.  Here's a link http://www.alloyart.com/bagger/superkush

It's a similar concept to the old urethane replacements for rubber handlebar mounts, motor mounts, and other mounts.  As long as they don't make the cush drive elements so firm you lose the energy absorbing capability that serves to help protect the rest of the powertrain, I'd guess they should last longer and remain more consistent over time.  Something the MoCo should have done in the first place IMHO, but they most likely didn't want to spend a couple more pennies per unit.

This is one of those "yeah butt" items for me until more would be known.  The cush drive is both sacrificial and soft for a reason.  Comparable (even cheap) prices and an extra bit of firmness could get really expensive very fast if they led to problems upstream in the drive line.
