Hello,
As an introduction to the CVO forum I wanted to say hello and introduce myself, and the new dream, always wanted, bike. This is my 5th Harley and as usual bought it on e-Bay, sight unseen! My 2nd and 3rd Harley was a purchase on e-Bay as well, sight unseen....a Softail Deluxe, and a Tri-Glide. This new to me 2012 Softail Convertible CVO, hopefully is the best one yet!
I had been looking for about 2 years for this bike, I had my search function set up for all, or most of the search engines, along with e-Bay, Search-Tempest.com, other riders, and just about most of the Harley and independent dealers....all on email notification. Last week I was checking e-Bay as usual, and a red CVO convertible was listed just an hour or so before, I hit the "buy it now" button as fast as I could.
After looking for just about 2 years, I felt like I knew what I wanted, along with knowledge of pricing, and any problems that I may encounter on that model.....I was ready! I had been lurking on this site for over a year, and learned quite a bit about CVO's, including the issues a lot of you had with lifters. To say it mildly, I'm a little concerned what may be down the road for me, and am already asking for advice and suggestions (thank you) The bike has only 4316 miles on it, all stock except for V&H 2 into 1 exhaust. Should I take care of the foreseeable issues or wait for more mileage on the odometer? Or is there any other issues I need to look into or be aware of?
I wanted this CVO for many reasons, a gift to my son when I no longer can ride, and then on to his son. Hopefully? or maybe this is the last of its kind that Harley will produce?
