Tour Pac Hinge Questions
« on: April 22, 2017, 10:14:10 PM »

I am putting together a Calvary Tour Pac that has hinges. It did not come with instructions or diagrams. It didn't have any hardware that is screws, washers, nuts etc. Town is 35 miles away so I used what I had in my assortment hardware. It appears it was M4 metric
I enlarged the holes slightly for #8-32 screws, washers and Nylock
The problem is the area of the seal and corner on the lid. No room for nuts, can I use rivets in the tight corners? I got to fit it without rivets to get painted. Can I rivet it in the corners after its painted?

I had a difficult time getting the passenger backrest holes drilled that was awkward, there is a small gap between the top lid and the base of the backrest. Again no template.  I got lucky on the rack for the lid. Everything lined up perfectly.
My question is the latches, the top part of the latch is very close to the edge. Not much holding it in place. Is this normal?  Thanks

Have drilled the rivets out of several of those to install new hinges.  They were riveted to begin with.
