09 ABS Light
« on: April 20, 2017, 10:55:07 PM »

Having issues with an occasional ABS light coming on. When I start the bike it goes through the normal flash mode. Once underway the light will sometimes go off, other times it will stay on. Just went through the odometer code check and if I done it correctly there are no codes. Wouldn't the ABS light throw a code? Or is there something different that will get me to ABS codes through the odometer that I missed.

Thanks
David

I had that happen to mine a couple years ago and if I remember correctly it was a sensor that was bad. When I took it in to the dealer to get it checked out, I'm pretty sure that it had thrown a code.

I was sure hoping to find a code that would send me to either a front or rear sensor rather than just guessing

Sometimes disconnecting, adding di electric grease to the sensors harness connectors can help.

Thought I would try that tonight and also do the plugs at the ABS controller. I guess I will also spend some time in the service manual tonight and see what information is there in ABS. I would think there would be a way to ohm those sensors out.

Good luck yellowserg.   Just fought this on a toyota and it ended up being the plug between the sensor and the main wire.

Fixin to put my serg back together next week after T-man ships my stuff back.
