Want to be able to help a fellow member if needed?
« on: April 22, 2017, 09:54:16 AM »

Was just looking at the member map since it's return from the abyss. If you go to your forum profile and place a 9999999 in the ICQ block it will replace your pin with a trailer icon. If everyone willing to help a stranded member would do this it would be a valuable tool. Years ago we had a spreadsheet with this info, prolly got to be too much work. Just a random ramble.

Done.  :2vrolijk_21:

For anyone else doing this, be sure to remember it's seven 9s that you put in the ICQ field.  Don't be like me and forget by the time you get there and hope it will work with some other random number of 9s.  It won't.  And then you'll have to go back and do it again, which is kind of a PITA, unless you are just sitting there drinking your morning coffee on a Saturday, again, like me.  :P

Good idea and thanks for the PSA, 2k.

Hey Jimmy, I do give a crap but don't have a trailer... ;D

I'm always willing to help out but is there another option for "help" than a trailer icon?  Bring gas, tools, food, water, support waiting on a tow, help loading when another member shows with a trailer, a place to stay overnight, emergency support just in case it is more than just a breakdown, etc.

Come on over, brother....even with the Village People outfit... :2vrolijk_21:

Actually, with the amount of two wheel traffic on Hwy 62 (the South leg of the Devil's triangle), it's a wonder I'm not in "response mode" more often... ;D  It probably helps that this leg isn't that tough a section on the triangle.  Now if I were on the New River/Petros portion, I'd need to open a service/repair/wrecker shop!

But I went to my profile,  ain't nothin that says ICQ or anything like that.  Tried clickin on the map, and nothin happened.

Well hell,  after all that fussin, I finally found it and discovered I already have a trailer. ( not that you can see it, with all them blue bubbles )

2K, thanks for the info. DONE.

Looks like if anyone is down in the desert they'll have to get ahold of the DesertHOG. Hell, I'll even pick you up if you're stranded.

This would be helpful. I have a trailer but sometimes it is at the other house so I don't want to put that out there. But I always have and will always helped anybody that is stranded or needs help.  If there is a way to indicate we can assist it would be great maybe seven eights (8888888).
