What's the difference between the 110 and 110B?
« on: June 13, 2007, 09:27:49 AM »

I recently became the proud owner of an '07 FXSTSSE - canyon copper - and noticed that the motor description for this particular model is 110B as compared just 110 on the other Screamin' Eagle models. Can anybody tell what differences, if any, exist?

evilmikehoo,
Welcome to the site glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: When you get a chance you should go to this board - New Member Introduction and start a thread to introduce yourself.

To answer your question about the difference between the 110 and 110B is the "B" stands for balanced. There is a counterbalance in the motor to eliminate some of the vibrations that are felt thru solid mount motors that are transferred to the rider.

evilmike,

The "TC110B" engine is a solidly mounted engine that uses internal chain-driven balance shafts to reduce vibration.  The "A" version of the engine does not contain balance shafts and is rubber mounted to the frame similar to a car or truck engine.  The "A" version is used on the Touring and Dyna models, while the "B" version is used strictly on the Softail models.
