Screaming Eagle 103...WOW!
« on: March 27, 2005, 09:13:48 AM »

So, I'm out yetserday on my FXR3 with a bud, who's modified his Low Rider with the SE 103 and Thunder Header pipe....high performance carb...blah!

He was gone whenever he wanted to be. Now, we're both 250-plus, but the difference between my EVO and his SE was just stunning!

I had acceleration envy.

What can I do to help increase my "go" without screwing with the integrity of my "collectable" bike?

Paul

1) Cam, Carb and ignition

If that's not enough

2) Headwork and pistons (don't forget the compression release's)

If that's not enough

Buy the RevTech 110 motor. Find you a dealer that will give you a discount.
Then save the original motor.

Paul, it's only money, how fast can you afford to go?

Yeah, 'er 'uh, neanderpaul,
Back in the day when I owned EVO's, I used the Competition V-Thunder II Cam, Screamin' Eagle Heads, decked .010, Roller Rockers, Punched Cylinders .020, with 10.5 to 1 High Top Pistons (had to be fly cut), S&S Shorty E w/66 Jet, and SuperTrapps.  Had superb low-end git up, but had nothing for modified Twin-Cam.  hd2003 had a good suggestion.  However, if I was going to change Motors, I would go all out, and get a Merch!  I had considered that before I purchased my '02 Twin-Cam.  Good Luck!  Later--HUBBARD

I plan on going up to 95" with SE heads , flat top pistons and an Andrews T37G gear drive cam.  I'm going have the heads and cylinders powder coated to match the "sinister blue" paint.  As I don't intend on selling it I'm not too concerned , but I am keeping the original heads/pistons/ and cylinders just in case .

Just for the Heads UP to those who are unaware REVTECH 100 & 110 (not the new 4x4) are made in Taiwan and I have seen more than a few of these motors melt down
