Rainy Day = Chrome!
« on: April 02, 2005, 10:57:09 PM »

Yep,

I did it. Went out today to Boston HD, and snagged my first "add-on" items for the FXR3. I could've sworn it was shiny enough, but noooooooo!

HD= Hundred Dollars....actually $114 and some change...Had to get the impulse-buy maltese cross leather ponitail holder. The wife picked it out...what am I supposed to do? Break her spirit? She actually told me she wants a Hugger.

Replaced the valve stem caps with the chrome HD Bar-Shield caps, snagged a Disc Lock, and picked up the chrome oil pressure sensor switch cover.

I'm a little concerned after putting it on though. It's a simple hose-clamp type connector, and I didn't want to tighten it too much, but after putting the actual cover on, it does wiggle a little.

Anyone ever lose one of these due to vibration? Should I remove it, and tighten the hose clamp as much as possible. Believe it, or not, the directions say no more than 2 'lbs of torque.

How does one measure it on a fitting that small?

Naitram,

You always come through with the "right" stuff

BTW does the hair color match the bike? or is it an accent color?

Mike

Carrie's bike is a nicely customized Anniversary Deuce. Yes...it's purple.

Oh yeah...Another $136 yesterday on chrome bolt covers, and a new rear plate for the backrest.

I thought The bike looked shiny enough. Now, I'm in trouble.

Pics coming.

...someday. Right now, I'm off to work. With maybe a stop at the shop on the way :)
