I am new to this site and love it. I just purchased a 2007 FXDSE Midnight Rush and Black Pearl.It only has 820 miles on it,previous owner had some financial issues and was forced to sell.His loss my gain and I'm stoked.It has Vance and Hines Big Radius pipes but otherwise stock.I should have it tagged and on the road in a few days,and can't wait for the weather to break here in Maryland.All the motor issues 110 owners are having does have me a little worried though.The factory warranty runs out July 09 should I just run it and wait and see before purchasing an extended warranty? Thoughts? Thanks Dave

the way I understand how the extended warranty works you buy it within 90 days and less than 600 miles and surcharge of $150.00 does not apply. Once that has passed not much incentive to buy until the very end (before warranty runs out).

also any dealer can sell warranty so either shop for he best repair shop and for price, but if I had a really good dealer that was a little higher on the extended plan I would buy from them.

I am not much for those plans but I found myself buying the extra 5 years (total 7) for the $1350.00 + tax. I have the Ultra and with the 110 I just wanted money issues to be a separate problem. I might have wished I had not later but I am not worrying about the 110 now. I know the down time is a big issue with some, but I also have 3 bikes 1998 RK and 2003 SE DEUCE. I am never without a ride.

Welcome to the site from Ontario Canada. Although others have had motor issues my 07 has been good from day one. As for the extended warranty that becomes a personal decision. If my motor went I'd rather pay someone else to do it better than than the MOCo. Good luck on your scoot.

I have a year left before deciding on the extended warranty. I plan on riding a lot of miles this summer and should ferret out potential gasket problems after 15,000 miles or so. At that point I have to wonder if it'd cost less than $1,700 for a head gasket job or not, since that is about what the additional warranty would be. I'm not sure how I'd handle your situation with only several months left on factory warranty. I suppose I'd ride it hard and often before the warranty was up and check it weekly at the rear head for signs of oil. Good luck and welcome to the site!

Hello and welcome from Northern Virginia! I am a fellow Dyna CVO owner-I live it! Make sure you get the tuning done before doing any warm weather riding and you should be good to go. There are alot of other mods you can make as you will find out from this site! Get a pic posted when you get the chance!

A Great Big CVO Welcome to you, and your right ------ his loss, your gain.

You have a great bike. If you are a good wrencher personally, you may be able to skip warranty, but if you rely on someone else to keep everything running ------ I may lean in the direction of buying extra protection. Just me, I am not a wrencher at all. I know how to put gas in my bike, and that is about it. Good luck and enjoy the heck out of that fantastic motorcycle. Enjoy yourself here too.
