Hello all, Nice to be part of a great group of cycle owners.  I am here in Michigan, still chilly, but enjoying my new 2008 FLHRSE4, in anniversary colors, has been great except for the dealership parts and service departments.  Long story cut short, got it, loved it but could not hear it.  Wanted Rinehart true duals, parts told me that D & D 2 into 1 was the only way to go.  They convinced me, now I have a bike that is to loud for my taste, but can’t change because the parts guys told me that I could change the baffles, and when I asked them to, guess what, they were wrong, can’t change the baffles in the Borzilla muffler.  Then the chrome started pealing off the muffler and one of the heat shields.  So far they don’t know what they are going to do if anything, because these are not HD parts, so technically they don’t have to warrantee them.

Welcome aboard Jeff! :2vrolijk_21:

Sounds like the dealer screwed ya over if he used the Borzilla. D&D Fatcats with the quiet muffler would'a been perfect for you. They perform better and are quieter than the Rineharts. I'd make them change the exhaust to the Quiet Fatcats. The Borzilla is made for much bigger engines than a stock 110. And they should be w.....ty'd by them no matter what, if they sold em to ya!

Good luck with your new bike and enjoy this great site! ;)

Jeff, welcome to CVOHarley from western NY!  Too bad about the pipes, at least you can hear it now.  Will the Fatcats with quiet baffles fit the D&D 2 into 1 header pipe you have?  Might be worth trying to get the dealer and D&D to work something out for you.  HD made money on selling you the parts, they should stand behind it.  Good luck!

If they gave him a Borzilla, the Fatcat muffler won't fit. The Borzilla uses a stepped larger pipe than the Fatcat, which is 1-3/4" pipe from the head back. You'd have to change the entire exhaust system. ;)

Welcome aboard from the state of Washington. Just a thought for you regarding your dealer, when I came to a cross road like you I took the day off work , went to the dealership and requested they do something now. Of coarse they would not accommodate me so I stuck around and every time a customer came in I was there to request  that they fix the problem that they created and made sure the customer was able to hear the entire conversation. After several times of doing this the dealer asked when I was going to leave and I replied not until the problem is fixed. I continued for about another hour and they finely gave in and fixed the problem.
Stick to your guns and they will help you .

Welcome from the West Coast! Hope you get your exhaust issues sorted out with the 'seller'. They should stand behind their recommendation and work. But as you've seen we have differing opinions amongs ourselves as far as what's the best system.........gotta love it!  :2vrolijk_21:

Well here is an update.  After talking to a great customer represenative at D & D, (Leonard) I found out that the Borzilla exaust that the dealership put on my bike was actually ment for engines in the 124 CI range.  I contacted every name that I had from when I bought my bike.  I actually talked to the sales manager and withing 30 minutes, I had the Service manager on the phone advising me that he was going to order the right exhaust system for my bike. The next day they called and asked for me to drop off the bike on Tuesday 5/27/08,  I will let you all know how it goes from here.
