Has anyone tried the new tweeters from Hawg Wired
« on: July 26, 2010, 01:35:23 PM »

Hawg Wired just came out with these new tweeters for the Road Glide. Has anyone tried them out.  Any feedback?

I bought them about a month ago, they are without a doubt amazing. Instructions were not clear on hooking them up with the Hawg Wired amp I already had. So I called Hawgwired and the tech said to connect them with the supplied wire connectors to the factory radio... before the Hawg wired amp. This way the speakers are driven with the internal radio amp vs the Hawg wired amp. His opinion was the Hawgwired amp would make the tweeters to loud, and they would overpower the regular speakers but decrease the sound quality.
I connected them the way he said, Sound at speed is just great. Best $112 I have spent (lately). I would buy again without a doubt. Little improvement in the garage, but major at speed. Took about 22 minutes including phone call from start (fairing removal) to finish.
Bought mine from local dealer during 20% off sale. He got them thru Custom Chrome.

I have them on both bikes (got them from HD-Dude) and they make a major difference, especially at highway speeds.  They won't work with the dash pad on the CVO Ultra though...

I can say I have heard Ernie's and they sound great. He covered them with his hands then took his hands away, wow I will say they are worth adding but I have the dash pad. GRRRRR.
