I just purchased the J & M for 1/2 helmets and it doesn't work very well.  It's not that it doesn't have the speaker power but if you want to speak through the boom for CB or phone it's extremely noisy to the person who is on the other end.  I may sell it cause I don't think I'll use it anymore.
Only been used once.
On the other hand, my 3/4 helmet with shield works great with phone & CB.

They don't fit in your helmet, they have the earpads which fit over your ears and the the piece from side to side actually compresses at your neck. Mouthpiece is the same. Similar to a regular headset with the part that is usually over your head is in the back.
Look at the pic's on the site.

I have two sets of the J&Ms... they have a plastic & velcro piece that slip up between the styrofoam and the helmet shell.

They worked great for me, but the places we do our long rides to don't have helmet laws, so we've only used them a few times.

You will also have to purchase a set of adapter cords to plug into the intercom as well.

I will sell you the two complete sets for $300.00 if your interested, the package cost me about $500.00 when I bought them last year.

Harley actually sells the pods that go into your half helmet, I have to sets for mine and they work great. They just slide in between the liner and the shell of your helmet. A little pricey, if I remember right they are about $40.00. I have had mine for 3 years now and no problems with them. If you want to remove them they just slide right out.

They will fit just about any half helmet. They do not screw on or permanently attach. There is a thin plastic sleeve that slides between the HELMET LINER and PLASTIC outer shell. Why they say they only fit KBC helmets is beyond me. After you see them you will understand why that makes no sense. It would be like saying harley socks will only fit in harley boots.
