As I've mentioned before get ready for a new softtail family member called "Dice". Harley's new fat rear tire bike.

Then its year 2 of the "CUSE" different paint scheme's, wheels and seat inlay but otherwise no major change's.

Second CVO model will be another softtail the Springer aka "Bad Boy 2".

Third CVO model will be introduced a first from the Sportster family with a Screaming Eagle version of an upgraded 1200 cc motor

And I didn't get my info from a salesman.  ;)

The Sportster would make sense...it'd be an anniversary model.  Check the Sportster forum for "rumors" after June.

I make a habit of never saying never, but truthfully I can't see myself on a water cooled Harley dresser with reverse! Aw hell, who am I kidding? They're probably already designing my HD factory custom trike even as you read this!  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] ;)

Oh crap, a water cooled trike with reverse, if I can get one of those lifts that takes you up a banister hooked to the side of the trike I can ride until I'm 90 or maybe even 100.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Wouldn't 2008 be an anniversary year for a Sportster, not 2007?

This very evening I had an adult beverage (or three) and channeled the spirit of Bill Davidson to discuss the very question of what will be released for the 2007 model year.  So here, my friends, is not some salesman or a dealer or even that highly placed friend of a friend whose brother-in-law shines the shoes of a janitor on Juneau Avenue.  Nay, this is not even the roomate of a dipstick kid interning at York who are screwing around on the Internet trying to act like they are actually in some way consequential.  This is THE SOURCE.  Bill D himself.  The old dead bastard wouldn't say chit.....

Every year brings an anniversary.  But hell, if the MoCo thought it would sell three extra bikes they'd roll out the pies for the "all new special one of a kind low production special decal and badge set 104th anniverary model."  This is the MoCo.  They celebrate and apply special badges for herpes if they thought it would sell two bikes.

I believe the Sportster was first produced in 1957, making next year that model's 50th anniversary.

Trying to clear the cobwebs in my brain and come up with a solid number. Wasn't the 1st Sportster somewhere in the 50's ? Maybe 57 ? Seems to me there was a big to do with Elvis (the real one) getting one of the 1st ones or something like that. That would make 2007 the 50th Anniversary of the Sportster. Someone else help me out here with the correct year for the introduction of the Sportster ?

Here's a good page on the Sporster evolution:  http://www.sportster.org/history/

Choke control lever moved from left side to the air cleaner.

Two brush generator.
Optional turn signals and 1 in over suspension.
The XLC & XLCH (Competition/California Hot)

I got it! I know where the error was. And wait a minute, the mistake was mine!

98  95th
2003 100th
2008 105th

Those weren't Sportser anniversaries. They were HD anniversaries. I feel much better now. I knew the 98 Sortster was a 95th anniversary, I had one. (Bar Hopper)

My bad....

Carry on...

Unless they made it a great value I would think it would be hard for the MoCo to produce a Sportster CVO and have people willing to pay for it...

Hey Twolanerider, do you secretly work for HD?  I mean, thats just so uncanny.

Reminds me of my 1977 Sportster 'Confederate Edition' that I bought used in 1978.  It was the answer HD/AMF came up with for the year following the "Spirit of '76" models.  Every car, truck, boat, bicycle, plane, and yo-yo manufacturer had a 'Spirit of 76' model of some kind.

The limited edition Sporty was nothing more than a stripped down bare-bones kick-start model with Confederate Flag Decals & Bluish-grey paint...worth quite a few bucks now from a collector's standpoint because it's not politically correct with the Confederate flag decals...so I'm told.  Regardless, the moco had to come up with a gimmick of some kind in that it projected that "rebel" image....contrary to the nation's previous celebration.

Maybe they'll come up with an 'Illegal Immigrant" Special Low-Rider with 120 spoke wheels, dingle-balls, and Red/White/Green paint....it's the new target market don't you know.
