Recommend Upgrades to SERG 95"
« on: October 01, 2006, 06:46:32 PM »

I'm asking a question that probably has benn asked a hundred times before , but can anyone help out.
I have a '01 SERG with the stock 95 and want to build it up some more. I'm soon going to install a SE Racetuner and have Vance and Hines mufflers. I want to install a true dual exhaust and a high flow air cleaner.
What would be some recommendations on heads, cams, and intake.
I've got a friend that just installed a 95" into his dyna and is running his mouth and I need to shut him up without going to a larger displacement.

I would suggest a higher lift cam, gear driven if you can swing it, then headwork to match. Right now you are probably running in the mid to upper 70's at the rear wheel, 100/100 is withing reach with the right combo.  I'm at 98/101 and love it.

I need to make an addendum to this i read it it just didnt register you said without going to larger displacement.

Actually I would suggest something like a 107 kit .. bigger juggs / pistons and cam.
There are many of these types of combinations out there it just takes a little money :)

I would definately suggest as a starting point to give zippers a call and talk to them about the 107 kit / or other mods to your 95 than you will have a good idea of what is possible and the associated costs.

Your bottom end could stay the same and you could pickup quite a bit of power.

Right now I'm running 75 hp and 83 ft lbs torque without a tuner and running rich at 3400 rpm.
How much lift are the heads and pistons good for in the clearance department?

Thanks for the replies.

I would guess, but that is not going to help you.  Ask the guys in the RoadGlide forums I am sure someone has a spec book for that Glide.

As soon as the systems for the 07's are out and tested I'll be opening the check book.
