Question for those with T-Max kits
« on: October 09, 2006, 04:53:33 PM »

Hi guys,

I'm now on the downside my Zippers conversion kit install, just waiting to get it tuned. I'd like to know what kind of mpgs you guys are getting with the Zippers TB and ECM set up. I know there are a lot of other factors that come into play, like tune, build, and riding style, but I'm just interested in what to expect.

95" kit flat tops
Andrews 26G cams
AMS ported and worked heads
True duals with free flowing mufflers
Zippers 50mm TB with air cleaner
ThunderMax ECM

My first tank was 25mpgs (OUCH!!!), so I've been tying to lean it out some in the cruising range.

Ironhorse,

I just set my 05 Roadking Custom 103" up with the Redshift 575 gear drives,Fueling Oil Pump, Zippers ProTaper Pushrods, Zippers 50mm throttle body, Zippers High Flow AC, D and D Fatcats w/BB Baffle, and the Thundermax ECM with the preset basemap.  I have 1000 mile on the setup and I am getting about 35-37 mpg.  It does seem slightly lean so I am going to richen it up a little which will probably decrease the mpg.  Am also waiting for the closed loop system to be available.  Maybe that will help all around.

MARK I have a new 113 muscle kit installed in my bike. I have had it tuned and after the tune the first tankful was right above 50 mpg. The second was not as good as I was twisting the wick quite a bit. It runs great and gets some pretty good MPG. After your tune you will see a big difference. Too lean or too rich will cause your MPG top be low.

HDFR120 If I could stay out of the throttle a bit I would still have some GREAT MPG's. Right now I'm still aroung 44 mpg. I do lean on her a bit but hey it is so much fun to ride.

Dawg,
Considering your Muscle 113 package, 44 MPG remains impressive.  I am debating the Muscle 117" kit for my '07 Classic.  Will discuss it with JK at Zipper's tomorrow.
