I know people ridding with 10" and 12.5" and they both love them. They say way more comfortable than stock.

I put Burly Brand 13" Bagger Throttle By Wire Ape Hangers on mine - very pleased!  Height is good and the pullback is perfect.

I have a set of Yafee 12" Monkey Bars on my 2011 CVO Streeglide (It's not an Ultra but pretty close) They are actually 13 1/2". And yes, I can see my fairing mounted mirros.

I'm 5'-8" tall with a 30" inseam.

I really love the height. Way more comfortable. But the best thing is the extra leverage you get when picking the bike up off the stand. You will like that, especially if you get the bike a little too leaned over!

I have 12" Bagger Bars on mine and they are the perfect height for me. Much better than the stock bars, not too tall or too short.

Put 14" Wild One apes on mine. One of the best mods I have done. Love the way they feel and the way they look. Bike handles great also.

I installed Wild1 578" in 10". They leave your hands behind fairing, and still gives a better riding experience. Didn't like my hands down low with the stock bars.

Check out the bars...

I have 14" HCC apes on my '11 CVO Ultra.  Very comfortable!  I have apes on all my bikes (18" Wild Ones on a Heritage and 17" on a Deluxe).  The grips on the CVO Ultra are roughly 1-2" above the fairing but well below my shoulders.  The heated grips come in handy when riding long distances in 30-40 degree weather.

No hurry here Stu. I haven't even ordered cables yet. I literally have MONTHS to start and finish this. I really enjoy these upgrades. Love being able to say I did my own work. The end result is such a good feeling. Helps me get throught the off-season. It is snowing right now.  8)

I put 12" bars on mine.  I've never liked my hands low and this made the bike feel and handle much more to my liking.  Plus, the 12" bars did not require new cables, I was able to the stock ones.  I think it makes the bike look much better.

Bigfoot....looks awesome. I have the same bike and have been tossing the idea around. Just wasn't sure how they would look. I hate having my hands low as well. Makes the bike feel extremely top heavy in my book. Did you have to splice your cables? Or did you just unhook, change bars, and hook the stock cables back up? Been led to believe this was a nightmare job. Hence saving it for a winter project. Once again, looks great.

Thanks.  I did not have to splice, it really was not that hard.  I was a little nervous because I've never had a bike with a fairing, but once I got going it was okay.  If you do install them, make sure you put your gps on to make sure you have them set with the right clearance before you button it up.  Good luck

The 12" Yaffee's are actually 13 1/2" and I changed my cables. I believe they were +6". I bought the kit from Yaffee.

If you do it yourself just take a handful of Valiums when you start pulling the wiring back in.

I am in the process of having the LA Choppers "Prime Apes" 13 inch fitted.
They are wider that the Yaffee bars and are NOT compatible with the heated grips.
I will let you know how they feel to ride with in a few weeks........

Just pick up my 12" Wild ones, I was told to install the bars then measure to see what length cable to get.
Is this what you all have done. or did you know what length to get. Once I get started it hard for me to
stop. I like to have every thing before I start tearing down.

Go plus 8" on the brake and clutch lines.  Then add in for the throttle by wire.  They have kits for those.

Kind of a necro post, but I didn't want to start a new topic without using the search function first.  I would like to get some carlini's for my 07 Softail springer fxstsse, but I don't know which ones to buy size wise.  Can anyone with experience please help me.  I emailed carlini and was told the discounted blem apes they have weren't the ones I needed...???  Help me out guys, I appreciate it.  Are they 1.50" or 1.25". Also how hard is this to do yourself?

You need to figure how high you want to go, by sitting on similar bikes with aftermarket bars. Then figure out who makes the style you want. Extending wires and pulling wires can be a pain. Depending upon your mechanical ability.

Massiah,
I know this might be a bit late. But I have a Crossbones, and fitted 16" Carlini Gansta Apes: they come in both 1.25" and 1.50". I put the 1.25" on, and they are great. Only problem is that they are not necked down to 1", so you have to buy the Carlini risers to match. They were also hellish expensive, but after riding with them for a few months, I don't regret paying a bit more.
Cheers,
