Mate , I'm from Perth WA

I have a 2013 CVO Breakout and a 2008 CVO Springer

Breakout has an "1800 pro-upgrade kit" , 10.5:1 pistons , 259e cams , SEPST race tuner. Freedom performance true duals

Springer CVO has stock 255 cams , TTS tuner , and V&H Big Shot Staggered with "power chamber" ( prolly TOO loud !)

My experience , personally , is that the Breakout did not need the "1800 pro upgrade kit " as the Springer is way gruntier thru' the low gears , and is gruntier by far at low revs. The Breakout moves out but it's all up the rev range

Top end the Breakout has it for sure , but how often around the metro area are you there ?

So what i'm saying is , try the Breakout with just slip-on mufflers and a Tuner with a stage 1 calibration downloaded and see how you go. Best bang for the buck that way. Khromewerks or Rush slash down slip-ons will keep the stock(ish) look if you want

Torque is king with these things and you'll actually lose low end torque to gain higher end power with any stage 3/4 type !

Also , I don't know what bike you've come from to your 2014 Breakout , but be very aware that the ground clearance on the right side is chit mate. My CVO Springer handles the arse off the CVO Breakout no worries

Just purchased a 14' CVO Breakout, was an addition to my 99' Springer and 11' Road Glide Ultra with a 120R.  Immediately installed the 10.5 SE pistons, .0030 head gaskets, 58mm throttle body, TMan-590 Cams, D and D Low Cat exhaust, and SE Pro Tuner.  Gives me 125 ft/lb tongue and 123 HP and rear wheel.  This is  comparable to my 120R numbers given power to weight ratio.  I have put the Breakout thru the ringer and it handles as god or better than any HD model ever produced.  The engine mods push the low end torque to the ride RPM

I didn't say my CVO Breakout was lacking in performance , it's VERY quick !

Just all the power and torque is now up in the rev range

Around town the CVO Springer is more pleasant and "useable" to ride

Perth western Australia has a rigourously imposed 110 Km/H limit ( 67 MPH or so !)

Top end power and torque is then superfluous most of the time

Good freeflow mufflers and a reasonable ECM tune and the 255 cams are often as good as you need

The OP had asked Re low end power and torque

I personally would not have spent the $4K+ for the " 1800 pro upgrade " kit comparing both bikes

I didn't actually spend the $'s , the 1800 pro kit was in the CVO Breakout from new , I bought it at a year old

Thanks GM I appreciate you taking the time to reply

Still going to get it done though !!! Cant help myself, have test ridden with and without now and the torque is good, lifts the front wheel with the kit and 2 into 1 pipe
Thanks again for reminding me about those footpegs ! Almost caught me out

SE-255 cams if your not going to crack open the barrels. Lots of bottom end torque up to 4000rpm. Added some good pipes and a SERT with dyno tune and I would say you've cracked the $2k mark. If you go with the Stage 3 kit with 259E cams, pipes, SERT and Dyno and you will be more like the $3500. I've done the latter of the two but went with the 263 cams for more top end.

I have a 10 Wide Glide and 12 Fat Boy. Had stage 4 ST pro kits installed in each. The Dyna is a dream torque, power from idle to red line in any gear. Fat Boy like other post likes the high rpm. Not a dog just not as responsive coming from low revs. BO had the pro upgrade new so can't really say what stock performance was like. Has not been dynoed yet or wrung out but seat of the pants it is on part with the Dyna. Leads me to believe it is in the tune on the Fat Boy. Never been disappointed with more power.

I went with the SE259, 10.5 kit with the VH exhaust. I still need to throttle it out of the hole but the mid range is truly awesome. I'm very pleased with the set up, but as with all gear heads still wanting to put more into the bike.

I strongly feel if you just throw a good exhaust and tuner at it, it will wake the bike up allot. That should keep under your budget. Spend the money on a good tuner and have it Dyno'ed (by a good tune guy).

It a very fun bike to ride..... :bananarock:

I am at those same crossroads. Debating putting 58 mm throttle body and high flow injectors in. Also have a 2 into 1 exhaust on my Fat Boy thinking of swapping with V & 2/2 on BO. It only dynoed at 102. Also read in another thread about 5 hp. difference between big breather and stock elite. Any tuning jockeys know if I can change out parts and tune with the SE tuner without needing to dyno again.

I have a '14 cvo breakout and GMR is installing the 577 cams and lifters with tune this week. I'll let you know how it does and it should be a great mod in your budget plus the bike will run a bit cooler.

After GMR 577 cams and tune the numbers are 95/118. My pipes aren't the best for power but I'm happy.

No idea, I checked the bike out at GMR but didn't ride it. It's going back to Harley for the fuel gauge not working and scratches in paint.

. With that BR pipe is not going to matter what you do and head porting is a total waste as well. Larger t/b would net you close to nothing as well. Back to back testing has shown that. The best is that we can  test that in house, giving us the direct data with factual information .  It's just crazy to see a pipe that can hold back power as well as it does. The tq curve is decent but in a short area.  Another thing is this break out come with a stock 50 MM FBW unit it is not a cable driven small t/b. Stock 50 MM unit is more than able to make 110 hp ,  Again back to back testing has proven that the larger unit is good for building more HP above 4250/4500 rpm on avg. Tq will go up a bit but a gain of 2-3 is never going to be felt in the seat.
