I don't know, that looks like a lot of pipe for my SEFB. I wonder about the weight difference from the V&H 2-1 ProPipe.

Still it looks hella bad, but that's a lot of pipe.

I dont care for the two into one look. I have the staggered big shots with a hidden crossover, works great, sounds kick@ too! i've never really liked the two into one look, looks to much like a sport bike or foreign bike.

Well, I am waiting patiently for it and buy it as soon as it is available. I will be the guinea pig lol.
If you check out their webpage it states it will be available March 2007 but only 2007 Softails? WTF?

I emailed them about this and they have not given me an answer.

I'll bet this will be an excellent choice.....cool look, something new, excellent performance and from what people are saying it will be much quieter than a Pro-pipe.

Someone said they do not show a number specific to the new 110 motor though - only the 96?
Wonder if there needs to be a difference?
I like the pipe - think it's a good balance between looks and performance and it comes with the dual o2 hook up as well

Anyone knows where to get those fenders, and that taillight?
Looks like a phatail kit to me. Here's a breakdown.
http://www.performancemachine.com/swf/details/phatialKit.html

Fender comes either with or without the licence plate recessed into it.

Just read this new post on another site.

Gentlemen - two weeks ago, Terry Vance pulled the BR 2-1's from production as he wanted to make another change in the design. Am told he's been a real thorn to the V&H's engineers' as everytime they think they've got it "right", he comes up with another design change. This has been going on for nearly 2 YEARS now! They are running dyno tests DAILY on all these changes.

Bottom line - Terry Vance believes this is the absolute best pipe ever designed in their companies history (or for the entire industry for that matter), and he wants it to be "right" the first time, not the second or third. Best info I've gotten, is were probably 2 months away from the first shipments as once the "final" design is approved, it takes nearly 90 days to get it from the molds to the packaging dept. However, in this case, a lot of that pre-production work has already been completed.

For what it's worth, V&H's is VERY much aware of the marketplace and very much aware that they are loosing sales every day this pipe gets delayed. As disturbing as it is (I've got one on order too), maybe the attage "good things happen for those that wait" will apply to this issue?

Hmmmmm, I hate it a company teases us with products and cant deliver on time.

Damm it, I was getting excited too & I was in touch with a supplier who was supposed to recieve them into his stock tomorrow (10th March) I will have to check to see what he knows. Another supplier told me a couple of days ago he was expecting them in about a 1 month.

Best price I could find was $639.95

Any news on the sound of it? Mags over here boast that this pipe is "silent", as if that's an advantage..

I hope not! IMO quiet means restricted flow & robbing power . Loud means free flow & power. But they also say this will be the best performance pipe they have ever put out. Maybe you can get different baffles to suit different applications. Mild to wild!

I like my D&D 2 in 1 Boarzzilla with performance baffle, it is on the loud side but a well tuned loud if that make's since to some and it sound's all HARLEY and it make's wicked sound as I go thru gear's on the high side, they are not cheap thou. about $850.00 and they have been in business for 25 year's right down the highway in the beautiful city of FORT WORTH TEXAS, they even make pipe's for jap sorry (metric) bike's and have won a few race's, I know if it was not for my D&D I would not be able to make the DYNO number's I made un-less I had engine mods. done but happy the way it run's now!!! I love my FAT BOY. P.S. if any one may want to buy a D&D go to there web site and they will give SPECS. and DYNO'S on all HARLEY'S.  PURPLE HAZE.

Thank's for the compliment, the pipe's are allmost 18 month's old and no blueing because I have heat sheild's also they are on the loud side but I have performance baffle in pipe but it is good tuned loud, sound's very HARLEY too, and if I keep off the gas on the highway it is not that loud until I get on it, but that's the fun for me! I just love to hear it!! But D&D has web site and they test all there pipe's and on ALL harley's and give spec's and Dyno's also been in business for 25 year's but they are on high side mine was $850.00 but I like power and I got at least 12 H.P. & 18 Tourqe. LATER.........  PURPLE HAZE.

Anyone tried the new pipe yet?

I am still waiting for the release of the 86-06 softail fitment, I believe they are only available for the 07 at the moment. Not to sure what the difference is apart from the O2 sensors but I did get an email from a tech @ V&H saying the mounting hardware was different. If they dont release them soon I may just have to get an 07 set & make them fit (o2 sensors may come in handy later)

Cheers

d00d,
Had someone else comment to me last night about the black bracket, so this morning I pulled it off buffed the paint off & polished it up. It will do for the weekend still off to the electro platers on monday.

Cheers
Aussie

PS: Damm it! now I need a chrome brake light switch. Anyone know where I can get one?

Now thats what i call a badass pipe!!!Get some better pics man.Was this included in your latest shipment? If yes show us the rest.Whats the number now you got at least 4-5 set of different pipes for the bike i think.I wonder how they sound.Enjoy the best lookin fatboy on the friggin planet man. :drink:

Altug,

They sound great, but were a little on the quiet side but a adjustment to the baffle soon fixed that. Its just nice now but no where as loud as the lake pipe I was running. Tried to get on the dyno today but he was too busy, I am going back on tuesday afternoon. My "Butt Dyno" tells me it has more tq where I need it as I had a bit of a hollow down low with the lake pipe. But I will see what the real dyno says on tuesday!

Aussie,

IN A WORD:   YEOW!!!!

That's Californian for: YEOW!!! What a ride.

It is getting a little competitive amongst the CVO Fatty's I'd say. I spent an hour early Sunday morning and I gotta spend a few hundred $$ just to hold my own. That doesn't include the Windvest guy either.

YEOW!!!,

Lookin' Outstanding as expected Aussie.

:2vrolijk_21:  Nice dude, that's look way better on the Fatboy than I anticipated.  When I listened to the pipe on V&H's website, I too thought it was real quiet and not as deep as I had hoped.  I'm sure the baffle mod helped a bunch...  Just wondering if it sounds anything like the big radius 2-2's with the mod?  Would like to see your dyno results when you get a chance.  Bike looks great!

I had it re-tuned on the dyno on tuesday. My peak numbers were much the same as last time, but power & tq come on alot earlier & alot stronger. I had a huge hollow between 2800 & 3800rpm. I still need to fit my bigger TB, I did not want to do the pipes & TB at the same time as I would not have known what gave me the gains.
Over all I noticed a huge difference with the new Big Radius (even though I did change the A/C at the same time)
My tuner still thinks I will see more gains with the bigger TB!

Cheers

Have you changed cams? was the DYNO after the throttle body? Sorry for all the questions but would love to get 10 more L.B.S of TOURQE!!! YOU ARE THE MAN!! HOPE you could give me a couple of pointers, I just do not have funds for new header yet, but I'M happy for you and I do believe you would walk away on a heads up race!!! ENJOY!   PURPLE HAZE.

One more quick question how is your air fuel ratio? Was the temp. high & humidity? My only excuse was here in TEXAS it was right at 100 degrees and high humidity, but that is not excuse for my poor Tourqe numbers.

Nice torque numbers Aussie, that thing must pull like a rocket after 3k. 110 on the torque is impressive but 100 between 3 and 5k on the torque side is awsome, something only a two into one pipe can achieve. That pipe rocks, probably the best looking two into one I've seen. Cant wait to hear one.

What an increase in tq. no wonder you can tell a "huge" difference.  When I added the 575 cams I picked up about the same numbers and also thought it made a "huge" difference, so I can understand where your coming from.  I see you are doing a 48.5 mm TB.  Doesn't our bikes already have a 48 mm stock?  Really impressed with how good that looks on your S.E Fatboy...  Best looking 2-1 I've seen to date!

I just ordered my Big Radius 2-1 pipe. After a long talk with Vance and Hines sales and technical departments, it is determined that my existing ProPipe 2-1 may be restricting potential horsepower and torque gains. They said the performance package I had added to the 103" may exceed the performance expectations of the ProPipe.

So, it's Big Radius 2-1 time then back to the DynoJet for another round.

Aussie,
Yeah, I was meaning to write you about this fiasco. It went down like this: shop completes engine upgrades. Working great, I put 600 miles on in "break in style". Now, back to shop for oil change, other fluids get fresh too.
The dyno is next.

Now, we're expecting monster results. My prior DynoJet results: HP 102.45 TQ 105.50. We expect numbers like +10 in each category + or - 15%. Instead of those numbers, we get Max Horsepower 105.00 Max Torque 109.00.
The Air Fuel is good as it gets. Now I am pissed cause after 4 or 5 attempts, the numbers really don't justify the hefty cost of over $6,300.00. I was told outright that minimum numbers should be 115 +. No where even close.

So, after a 30 minute debate and various configurations (no baffle, no intake filter, etc..) the tech determines the only factor that might be killing the numbers is my 2-1 ProPipe ('Vance and Hines). Everything should be ok if I upgrade the ProPipe to the Borzilla or Big Radius 2-1. The Vance and Hines staff concur with this assessment. So I ordered the new Big Radius 2-1. Another $600.00 eh?

Other news: the original wizard who first did my DynoJet results may have jacked up the numbers somewhat. His "uncalibrated" Dyno may have unfairly displayed numbers not accurate; however no one there at the shop can determine the precise history because the guy quit and zeroed out the track record. How's that for a crock of chit?

OK. Last item: I had a long talk with the owner, he laid out the details to the best of his ability and thinks the new pipes will open the door for the dyno tech and better results. OH, they forgot to print out the DynoJet Program results. My test is not available right now.

What's a brother to do? The engine seems great, and is running better than ever. The first time I go over 4,000 rpms the bike lit up like a speeding bullet on drugs. But the tuner, well I am now looking for a SERT certified tuner.

After all that time waiting and researching product the only thing I really wanted was to post my results.

How did I do?

Cheers to you my friend,

Kona,

That does sound a bit disappointing with those mods that baby should kick some serious ass! but something did jump out at me, "the SERT" & the fact you mention needing to find a decent SERT tuner! I ended up getting the chits with my SERT as after spending over $400 on a tune by the SERT guru (60 miles away) & they even told me it was running great. It had 5 hp less than when i took it in.  :zwtf:
I happened to know of a Power Commander Specialist only 4 miles away & told him i wanted to put a PCIII over the top of my SERT. he thought i was mad but did it any way & in no time at all my bike was hauling ass. Also an other benifit with the PCII was when I do another mod like adding the Big radius recently its only a quick trip down the road & $50 later I am smiling again.
There is no doubt the SERT is a great product but is useless if you dont have many years of experience building custom maps with them.

Cheers

Cheers
Aussie

Aussie,

I got to tell ya, finding a decent knowledge based performance tech specializing in ECU Mapping is one rare breed and hard to find here in the San Fernando Valley, CA. I was heart broken for about 5 minutes. I have passed word around to the various clan members and MC clubs that there is a reward for a tech preferably alive and needing $$.

You are so right, the SERT was my hero upgrade for a long time. That is, until this episode revealed itself.

Ya know, the tech seemed to know the SERT and was familiar with navigation through the software. I was there all afternoon and he know what he was doing.

First I thought I had some compression problems as if one of the cylinders may have a loss in compression or something. I am sure we'll get it up to par, but the money and the waiting are just no excuse for the results.

Kona, This guy has the reputation as being one of the best with a PC, but your gonna have to take a short ride to Sturgis to get it done. I would call him, he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever talk to, and he may have a friend in California he can recommend.

Thats why I may be making O.K power because the Dyno-Tech. knew his chit about SERTS and header, K&N, helped out some also. Hope you get it squared away, It sucks to pay for service and it is half-assed. GOOD LUCK! PURPLE HAZE.

TC, John is Rolling Thunder Dyno, and youve heard correctly John is a magician, His tunes seem to win quite a few Dyno comps... I thought Kona would be a little more excited about an excuse to have to go to Sturgis...

Got to say that, having looked at the Rinehart stuff at Laconia last week, I wasn't very impressed by the workmanship.  The heat shield fit was kind of crappy-looking.

My Friends,

Did I tell you that V & H staff members said there might be applications that hinder the performance on a ProPipe 2-1 ? I have a ProPipe 2-1 currently and today I am expecting to install the Big Radius 2-1 for greater gains.

I will post the information, DynoJet results, and Pictures (hopefully) by this afternoon.

I told my girl Rose: "I know I have the OCD bug. I know, I know. But the guys at V & H said more gains, better bragging, more horsepower & torque etc...".

She said to me: "You have the sequel to OCD. You have ANAL_OCD." Then she said only an AXX admits he has OCD. Geeze.....

I owned a set of Reinhart 2:1 pipes and while I love the look and the performance was good (similar to D&D Boarzilla), quality was poor.  Collector shield broke twice, end cap turned colors twice and the straw that broke the camel's back was the head pipe cracking 360 degrees around the O2 bung.  I switched to D&D Fatcats and am very pleased.

Aussie, Reo,

See. now that's what I am talking about. Heart felt concern for fellow CVO bikers with too many credit cards not maxed out.

In other news, the new V & H Big Radius were a day late, a dollar short and shipped to the wrong state. Due in later today, instead of yesterday.

I will report accordingly, with or without Rose's permission, and between the savage beatings.

I really like my D&D BOARZZILLA it is well made and after allmost 2 years still looks new! And has a wicked sound when you go thru the gears on high end but I'M sure the Vance & Hines is a great pipe too, it would be boring if we all had the same pipe, mine is on loud side but passed my state inspection! Thank God, I was sweating bullets because a good pipe is not CHEAP!!
