Aftermarket exhaust options?
« on: June 10, 2014, 12:56:34 PM »

I'm trying to find a full system or even slip-ons for my cvo deluxe but have been hitting a lot of dead ends. Spoke with V&H and they are no longer offering full exhaust or slip-ons, according to the sales rep. Apparently they've been having problems with them. I ask if it was something they were working on and was told "not at this time".
I also checked with Bassani and Rinehart, both said theirs should work on any softail model, but now I'm a little leery.
Is anyone running aftermarket exhaust on their cvo deluxe without issue?

I gutted the stock baffle and CAT from the stock mufflers, then inserted a baffle from fulsack.  I like it.

Your CVO Deluxe looks great and I like those pipes on that bike. If my dealer hadn't been able to get me my CVO Breakout I was going to buy the maple and orange CVO Deluxe they had on the floor. Really good looking bike and I would've definitely gone with the same pipes you did. They look great on that bike.

Thanks, they seem to work well and I am happy with the seat. The Deluxe lets me stay on two wheels for a while longer . At my age of 75 I did not want to go to a trike just yet.

Old Guy, I love it with the true duals, looks great, that's the route I was hoping to go but with that support beam there I couldn't imagine how they'd fit. Was there any issues or fab. needed during install?

Sorry "Older Guy"  :)  I called V&H two different times and both sales guys I spoke with told me they didn't have a header pipe or slip-on that would work. They said there was an issue with hitting the bags. (Which from your pic doesn't look possible.)
I also called the HD dealer for their recommendation and was told RC Comp slip ons would work great, and that's what they had been installing them on these. But when I called RC they told me they didn't have anything that would fit this model?
My guess is these venders have had some complaints and are just telling people they won't fit until they are able to test and make sure there's no issue.
If yours installed without issue and sounds good I'll be order a set today.

If this will help you call this # 570 253 2000 ask for Andy in parts he can put you in touch with the vender he got them from Just ask what pipes were put on John Ulmers Deluxe. The # is BAERS HD in Honesdale PA. As you can see by the pic of my bike no problem with the bags.
