Brand New 2020 CVO Ultra Limited
« on: July 17, 2020, 05:57:54 AM »

Just picked up yesterday and want suggestions to boost horsepower and torque, my anniversary 2018 Ultra we built the 117 numbers were NOT SO good and I run the Baker 7 speed, I do not if that is good or bad, I just like having extra gear and I do ride hard. I do have ESP and would like to keep it. Thank you in advance.

Warranty is a big constraint. Only way I know of is the factory 131 crate.

The only way you can keep the factory warranty (or the ESP) is to stick with street legal modifications approved by H-D and the EPA.  So far I haven't seen H-D (or the EPA) approve any aftermarket mods, so you would be stuck with just the kits Harley sells.  Btw, when Harley voids your powertrain warranty you at least get to keep the rest of the so-called bumper to bumper warranty on the rest of the bike.  That's not how the ESP works, when they void the contract they void the entire thing.  Something to think about with all the pricey electronics on new bikes.

You just got it, want to keep warranty have them do the 131 big bore kit on it.  Only way to keep warranty.  A couple threads here about numbers of the kit all harley parts so warranty compliant.

See how long it will take to get your 131 kit during the Covid..and hope it is in the first 60 days of your purchase then the motor will be covered throughout your ESP as well...After ESP runs out get rid of the factory header that comes with the 131, put a real tuner and pipe on it and you should have some decent numbers..

I think if the kit is ordered now, while bike is very new, and kit does not come in during the 60 days, they extend it until the kit does come in.  Not the dealer or customers fault H-D cant deliver on time.  I have heard several people getting kits at 120 days or more after buying the bike but covered because kit was bought right a way.

Check into that before you order the kit.

It took my kit more than 60 days to arrive. HD are covering it under the factory warranty and actually extended the factory warranty to ensure I received the full 2yrs on the 131.
If your dealer is unsure have them reach out to their H-D rep. I can tell you the wait and changing dates drove me crazy but H-D really stepped up in a couple of ways.

Congrats on the ride!!!, kinda shooting yourself in the foot by wanting to keep the warranty when built right and with quality parts I've yet to see bikes have problems especially when using the fueling plate and oil pump 😎 kinda sucks when you're buying a whole kit to just end up replacing the same and exhaust system when the warranty is up to make awesome power
