Gary yes the slide out keyboard will work with all Applications  :2vrolijk_21: being that I was still in side the thirty days exchange I swapped  the Storm 2 for the Droid  :)
What happened to you w/the Storm2 helped in my leaning more toward the Droid. I just need to get to Verizon sometime soon when they aren't so busy so I can play with one. :2vrolijk_21:

FiredOOd;  I went to my local Verizon and was told they cannot just turn the Droid on unless your Gmail account is turned on in the unit. ( meaning you got to purchase it before you can play with it)  for some reason it does not work like the Storm or the Curve or any other normal PDA.  Just a heads up if you are going in there!

Thanks. I'm just interested in looking at one of the demo models they have in the store just for basic features. :2vrolijk_21:

My understanding is that the iPhone is only available with the sorry azzed AT&T carrier. Until that changes, I'm sticking with my BB. spyder

That's my understanding too... unless you buy one off eBay (or other source) that has been  hacked to work on other systems.

Ok, thanks. I'm looking at phone options when my current contract is up. Currently have a Palm Treo so I'm somewhat used to a touch screen I had thought about a BB Storm2, but after seeing the droid I'm leaning more that way now. I know what you're saying about getting used to a certain way of using/getting to applications it will take time getting used to a new way.

I am getting use to the Droid pretty quick.  I though like touch screens, we use them on our drilling controls, and my Ipod touch.

The Iphone is great, AT&T however is not.  They have no reception at my house and very poor service.  I feel the Iphone has helped AT&t keep some market share.

Go into a Verizon store and they have a map of the Verizon coverage area in red.  Next to it, they have a map of AT&T coverage area (in blue).  Real nice display, all back lit and everything......but the comparison is laughable.  Tell me why somebody would go with AT&T?  Oh yea.....it's cheaper (for good reason).

I got Terrie the Droid for her birthday.  She's had it since Sat. and has not put it down.  She's told me at least a hundred times "I love this phone".  She does computer stuff for the state of Calif. so she's technology savy (she has to straighten all my stuff up, for me) but driving home last night she says "oh, I just found a couple more things it does......I'll never know everything it's capable of doing".

That scarred me enough that I don't want one.  Hell, I don't even know how to take a picture with my four year old flip phone. :(

Same. Tried one w/ all the whiz bang do everything crap and didn't like it at all. 1/2 the time I couldn't get the dam phone answered in time. I'll stick w/ my lo tec flip until they figure out how to make it obsolete. Of course I still like to read paper maps.

Thanks for all the feedback on these phones gang! I looked at all the smartphones discussed here and decided to go with the BB Storm2. The Droid was just a lil much for me, and like was said earlier, you can't play with it in the store either. The Storm's touch screen was definitely acceptable for me. Way better than them lil buttons on the other BB's, that I can't see. The Windows phones just weren't for me. It came down to the Droid or the Storm2, and I felt for business purposes (and my technical inadequacies), that the Storm2 would suit my needs better. Picking it up on Mon. And yeah, get ready for another new number for me gang! ;)

Ok, so far, I'M HATING THE STORM2!!! The touchscreen SUCKS!!! You hit 1 button and another character appears. It seems very cumbersome to use. I don't have much patience for this chit, but I'm thinking this is the wrong phone for me already! I think I'll try the Droid now! I'll get that one tomorrow. This BB blows! :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

Just got the Droid on Saturday and loving it... Just an FYI touchscreens are sensitive and will take some time getting used to... even worse if you have big hands/fat fingers.
