I sure like the ‘18 RG CVO, knowing I would add a king tourpak it would be great if any likeminded folks out there have photos?
And does anyone know if the ‘18 is set up same as past, like the ‘09s, Will it be an easy add on like those?
I do know be a struggle with what/how to do to make it look good with the Lava Orange one I’m pondering if and when to go test ride. Likely have to find good painter if I jump!
-
I do not have any pictures but do know people have added both chopped and King tour packs to the 18 CVO Road Glides. Some have also added lowers. It should be a pretty easy add for the tour pack. Its a bit more involved to add lowers.
I have seen bikes on facebook with the king tour pack and others with lowers. These were 2018 CVO Road Glides.
-
here's a thread over on road glide.org where the new owner has added lowers and a tour pack to the 2018 gunship grey.

That's a serious bike. Carbon wheels, Ohlins suspension front and rear. Yellow tail lights so I'm curious if it's from another country.

Lots of money in that, the Ohlin inverted front is not inexpensive the wheels aren't either. Looks good bet it rides great.

Never heard of Eringer brakes, and those rotors wow. What mufflers are those?

Mufflers Rinehart & headers
Beringer calipers (stylised B)

Not sure what size you are looking for but this is the one I have on my chopped tour pack.
It does have some orange stiching in the middle of it.

Sorry, just now seeing this.
Here is my 2018 CVO RG with chopped tour-pak.

Looks awesome. I really like the utility of the bigger pak but prefer the looks of the chopped. I've a buddy here with the O-Lava...beautiful color.

I used a back rest from an '18 CVO SG Ultra on my tour pack in my 18 CVO RG.
I'll try to get you a better picture of it.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180416/0f6cf5405cb027af58596075a8fb3f0c.jpg)

I have. Including the rear and lower side lights, amp, speakers, and power lock actuator. Not removable due to the amp. Separate posts as I cant figure out how to add multiple pics to 1 post on a pc. I used the hammock seat and backrests (drivers wasn't on for this pic) off of a 2018 CVO Limited with orange stitching but no hash stitching

Very nice! Whats the part # and where in Washington are you located??
-
Here is the parts list. I checked one of the numbers by searching it and it came back accurate so this should provide you with everything you see.
I'm a little north of Vancouver but I bought the bike in from the dealer on the east side. Not sure of the forum rules about naming dealers and things...so I'll leave it at that....but those guys were great. Highly recommend them. By far the most fun I've had buying something.

for the people that have done them can the tp be locked from the fob ? im assuming the chopped isnt wired so probably not but maybe the king tp can be made to work ?

I didn't think about the automatic bag locks. The wire is right there at the sadllebag that can be tapped into. (tannish/yellow wire)

I didn't ask the dealer about it because of how I ride and pack my stuff. I only open and close my tour pak in the morning and at night so I lock it and forget it during the day.
It would be really cool to set this up though. I'm not sure what would be required in the pak at the lock to enable this. It seems you should be able to order that along with the lock/pak.
Let us know what you find out if you inquire.
-
I cant seem to find it now, but there was a thread about adding a power lock to the tour pac. It real easy for the king as it was designed for the king. This guy did it on a chopped. Had to trim the lock housing a little as a remember. He did get it to work on a chopped.

I sure can not find the thread, put they put a power lock in a chopped tour pac.

The part number for the actuator assembly is #91800039.
It would seem some simple wiring would do the trick, although, with modern BCMs being finicky with voltage resistance there might be an issue.
I want to do this, but this project will be on the backburner until winter, most likely. I have other pressing projects that need addressing right now.
-
Mounted mine up yesterday but didn’t realize it doesn’t come with any lock hardware. Assume there is a way to get a lock assembly that matches my key?(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180514/c5cbf19af8b018db50c4634acb4e6d56.jpg)

Yes, replacements locks are ordered with a key code. Supply your existing key code and you'll get a lock that matches.

From the owner's name and the architecture of the building behind the bike, I was thinking Spain... then I saw a sign on the building. It's in the city of Queretaro, Mexico, an old city founded by the Spaniards, about 150 miles NW of Mexico City. That is an extremely serious bike at Mexico prices, but it's probably just a drop in the bucket in the owner's career field. :o
-
Anyone that has installed a king tp how did you wire it up is It quick connection ? Also do you have to run separate power for the speakers and amp. For the tail light what do you tap into ? Any info on install would help.
-
I’ve added king Tour pak wraparound LED kit. HD part 67800368. Connects into tour pak with HD wiring harness part 69200131 which connects to bike via Namz tour pak power tap harness NTP-CB01.
Set up as quick detach w/o speakers

Did your King Tour-Pak come with the interior liner?

I just ordered the chopped for my 2018 and the actuator so would really like to find the thread on making this work properly.
Would be great to have it lock with the bags off the fob !

I messed with it a little today.
1) You will have to trim the actuator housing on the back side.
2) You will need the longer screws that pass thru the actuator to the tour pack latch.
3) The barrel lock for the tour pack latch is different for the actuator vs. manual version. (I still need this part and still need to do more research.)
4) Your going to have to drill about a 3/4" hole for the actuator to mate the to barrel lock. (Again, I need to do some more research on the barrel lock.)
5) Wiring will be a breeze, only two wires to tap.
Still working on it, it is just not a priority.

Do you have any photos you can share?
Thanks,

I have not taken any photos yet.
I will take some pics when I finish the project, but again, this is a low priority project right now.
Right now, my priority is adding a oil pressure and oil temp gauge to the center console. It is turning into a money pit! LOL

This is the 19 chopped with red stitching but on my king tour pak.

I’ve added the chopped TP to my Mako. Anyone add the chopped TP and added the TP rack? If so any pictures you can share? I’m trying to decide about adding the TP Airwing rack to mine.
Thanks

Not a RG, but 2016 SG CVO, added chopped tour pak with Stealth Rack, looks good but not very functional, if I had it all over to do, I would have gone with the king tp and the air wing(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190123/52f90f44050751317e2cc6f56cbdd8e5.jpg)

I did strap a bag on it with a piece of rubber in between, but if I’m traveling with out a passenger I put a bag on the rear seat with my bike cover strapped to the rack and bag, here’s a pic on the way to MV gtg last fall taking a break from the rain.

I added the chopped Tour-Pak to my 2018 and did the power lock.
You need to trim off the bottom of the lock assembly for it to fit the chopped.
Tap into the wires under the seat (tan with an orange stripe and tan with a red stripe)

There is also a cover that attaches under the handle, HD part 3000637XXX where XXX is the color code. Unfortunately, it is a VIN restricted part for some reason known only to HD. I am in the process of making one since I could not order it. Without the cover, it is easy for anyone to unlock the tour pak by pushing on the lock cam.

Am I missing something, the receptacle on the actuator is different from the nut on the lock?? Do I need to index the nut a little and sand it down to fit in the square receptacle??

The standard tour pak lock cannot be used, you will need to get the lock part number 90300081 as noted in the parts list in the previous post. It has the correct shape to engage with the electronic actuator and has 90 degree free rotation of the cam plate that is necessary for the actuator to work.

I was unaware of the little latch cover until you mentioned. (I finally finished putting the power lock in my chopped tour pack, after having all the parts for over a year. lol)
That said, I think I found a way to get the latch cover, and screw.
If you look at the parts schematic from a 2016 Ultra tour pack, it shows a part# 53000312 for a latch lock cover, the screw part# is 10200225.
I am going to order these soon. (My CC# got hacked, waiting on a new card. :-\

That is good to know; thank you. I didn't realize that Ultras had electronic locking. Unfortunately, I have already spent hours making one when I could have bought one for a few dollars. Hopefully others will benefit from this information though.

Does your license plate frame have a light Rayson, the one in the Kuryakyn catalog does not?

Love my tourpak! My first bike with it and I am already wondering how in the world I didn't have one until now.

Wow sorry Michael, I just saw this. I just visited the Kury site and it looks like you will need to order this now and have it powder coated black like I did and discard the backing plate. Used to be able to order the frame without a backing plate. You'll need to drill 2 holes in your fender for the top 2 bolts, the bottom 2 are dummies and the wiring plugs right in. The rubber that I used around the edges is batwing preglued fairing trim from Harley.

Oh, gotcha, Thank you Sir!! I thought you had this one below

They don't seem to offer the LED lighted one in black for some reason, only in chrome. I scuffed mine up real good with a scotchbrite pad and took it to the powder coater. Not a hard job but looks great. Did the same to my 2011 SESG too.

Bike looks great Kelly...
