WO 577s with fairing mount mirrors
« on: September 08, 2013, 05:46:05 PM »

I am considering 577s and wondering if anyone has these and kept the fairing mirrors.  Are they high enough where you can see what's going on behind you?  If not I may be seeing my painter this week. I really don't like the look of the plugs that are offered by HD, or the Yaffee chips ,,  thanks in advance.  Stuart

Stu;

Have you looked at the LA Choppers, Twin Peaks "Bagger" bars ?   I put the 12" model on my CVO S.G and am happy.  I "can" see the mirrors under my hands on the bars.  Not like handle bar mounts, but in 10k miles, I'm used to them.     Here's a pic.

Go with the 577's and bite the bullet to close the holes from the painter, and use handlebar mirrors.. Fairing mirrors are ugly anyway. Your never gonna get full vision the way and I ride with you. Never behind you cause I use all six of my gears.

LMFAO tell him Brian!

I hate bar mounted mirrors myself but I am short so if I go 577's I will be able to see under them since I sit so low.  :bananarock:

I just had a set put on after Sturgis. The fairing mirrors work great.  The bars are awesome.

I should be able to see out of the mirrors easy then I am 5" shorter then you lol. Do you have them rolled all the way forward? Are your arms still below your shoulders? Can you pm me some pics? Thanks.

lol Stu you always whip out the wallet so fast. I am going a different route, most likely Cyclesmith 13's. I won't be needing a painter though, sticking with my fairing mirrors  :2vrolijk_21:. Good luck!

I just bought the 577s today. The customer rep for Wild One was very helpful. He recommended handlebar mirrors for full visibility.

I am wondering if you have a parts list of needed cables and such to complete the install?
