Have a 2011 CVO Road Glide and have not been happy with GPS since day one. When it gives turn directions it opens the mike and I get a lot of engine and traffic feed back that it is diffcult to hear the directions. Most of the time I keep it on mute and rely on the screen. I have had my Harley dealer try different wiring so I can use the bluetooth interface on the GPS with my phone. When I receive a call I can hear the call through the helmet headset but they can not hear me. Any thoughts?
Lots of thoughts...First, the open mike problem is likely the NIM (navigation interface module), which, on the 2011 is probably the old one that has problems. The new part number ends with an "A". Make the dealer replace the NIM first. Then see if you still have those issues. You can receive calls through the GPS when paired with your phone, but it is NOT connected to the mic system on the bike. To be able to talk throgh the intercom system on the phone, you have to get an aftermarket piece. Look here:

Don't be surprised that the HD dealer doesn't know what the problem is...most of them don't even know it has a NIM, much less that the old version is no good. After you get all that done, see if it solves your problems. Some of the 660's have had to be returned for an exchange. Mine did, but only after the NIM was replaced could I figure out part of the problem was the GPS itself. Yours may be fine.
