Bel-Ray Gear Saver SAE 85W Transmission Oil in the primary will  provide the same result.  Tucker-Rocky sells (sold) the stuff by the case of twelve liters.  I don't think they sell the white liter bottles anymore though.  Just the Black quart bottles of Big Twin primary chaincase oil, but it is SAE 80W.  Once I run out of my remaining stocks of white liter bottles, I'll get the "new" stuff from Rod's Performance, since only dealers can order from Tucker-Rocky.

I used the Bel-Ray gear svr  in the primary, and not as happy with it as I would've thought, it was, ok.

I think we talked about the Amsoil in mine.  How'd it run on the test run with it?

Can you be more specific about why you were not as happy as you would've thought, please?  The only reason I'm asking is to learn if there is something for which I should be looking after running this stuff in my primaries.

Which oil did you choose to run in place of Bel-Ray Gear Saver SAE 85W in your primary, and how is it working out for you?

Thanks.   :2vrolijk_21:

Thank you, Sir.   :2vrolijk_21:

Is this your prose and Bel-Ray's answer.....from Sir Tech on the Bel-Ray site?

"6. I ride a 2009 FLTRSE3, Screamin’ Eagle Road Glide with a 110 motor. I am using Gear Saver in the Tranny now but want a high end 100% synthetic for the primary and motor, what do you recommend and where can I purchase it from? My fellow Eagle Riders are anxiously awaiting my feedback. Many of them are using Redline Heavy Shock now in the tranny and either Amsoil or Mobil 1 V-twin in the motors. The biggest issues with these motors is heat and noisy trannys.

Thanks for writing in. Bel-Ray V-Twin Synthetic Motor Oil 10W-50 full synthetic engine oil is the very best we have. (This is also packaged as Bel-Ray EXS Synthetic Superbike Motor Oil 10W-50). We recommend two different Gear Saver products for your Road Glide. First for the transmission, we recommend Bel-Ray Big Twin Transmission Oil or Bel-Ray Gear Saver Hypoid Gear Oil 85W-140. These two products are the same gear oil in different packages. The Hypoid Gear Oil 85W-140 will provide the lubrication needed for the bearings, shafts and gears while helping to quiet down the gear whine these transmissions make. For the primary we recommend Bel-Ray Primary Chaincase Lubricant or Bel-Ray Gear Saver Transmission Oil 80W. Again these two products are the same gear oil only different packages. The Gear Saver Motorcylce Transmission Oil is formulated for the wet clutch performance and will provide excellent clutch performance and wear reduction. This is a premium petroleum product. To find a local dealer, try the dealer locator on www.parts-unlimited.com or www.powersportsrider.com (Tucker Rocky). Just type in your zip code. We sell to these large distributors who ship to the dealers, so we don’t know what the local guys have on their shelves. If you are comfortable ordering online, search for "Bel-Ray" and you should find many dealers that carry us. Thanks for using Bel-Ray Performance Products."

Whether or not it is your query, as indicated by the highlighted passage in the Sir Tech response, you are 100% correct, Sir.  I already knew that, and have no issues running both Gear Saver products in my primaries and transmissions.  For me, the stuff works to my complete satisfaction.  I've never tried anything else except Amsoil MCV 20W50 in my primaries and transmissions (besides SYN III/stock H-D lubricants when they were new), and I'd never knock anything I haven't tried.  I'm certain Redline and applicable Amsoil products are just as good, if not better, than my Bel-Ray choices.  Bel-Ray works very well for me, so I see no reason to change.   :2vrolijk_21:

Have a great Saturday.  Looks like a wonderful day to ride in the Tennessee Valley.  We're headed to Tim's Ford (Holiday Landing) for lunch at the Blue Gill Grill.   :2vrolijk_21:
