Pros and Cons between 18 x 5.5 or 17 x 6.25 rear wheel
« on: May 26, 2021, 01:04:16 PM »

I just took off my 17 x 6.25 / 200 rear off my Road King and raplaced with a stock 16in.  I had to because my tire was worn down to the fiber and I was not close to home to just replaced the tire. Anyways when switched to the 16 on my way back home my SERK started to wobble at 85 to 90 mph.  It did not do that with my 17.

Now, i'm definitely going to switch back.  My question to you all is.

what advantages do I have going back to 17 x 6.25 / 200 rear or should I go back to 18 x 5.5/180 OEM or has anyone tried a 18 x 5.5 /200?

Reason why I asked is because the 17 to me felt harder to lean on turns.

I have a 21 in front and riding on Arnott air suspensions.

Wider rear tires require more effort to turn/lean than a narrower tire. Wobble can be incorrect wheel bearings to axle specs, diameter and side play etc.
