No matter where they come from they're gonna be hard on brake pads.  If they weren't floaters you'd probably feel some oscillation back through the grip from them too.

Would the uneven design be worse than the many holes drilled in most rotors braking surface?    [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  spyder

I agree with 2Lane....I'd bet a lot of money that those are some pad eatin' buggers.  Some years back a chopper I bought had some PM rotors with sculptered edges on them and they knocked the corners off the pads on a regular basis.

thanks guys for the input/opinions.  that's what I was needing to help me decide whether or not to buy these for my seeg or not.  I loved the unusual look, but had some of the same resevations that ya'll expressed.  guess I just need validation of my suspicions.  Anyway, I just pulled the plug on the deal......thanks.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] spyder (still looking for better rotors....Har!)

Hey Brian, what do they look like?  Are they real chrome and not that fake looking chit that the MOCO passed off on us as chrome on our stock SEEG rotors?  I'm just so tired of looking at those sorry looking rotors on my scooter.  I've been very happy w/ the braking on the SEEG, esp. w/ the Hydrolics, but may consider going w/ the Brembo calipers since they're suppose to be superior in function and come in good looking chrome ;D.  Thanks for looking into this for us.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] spyder

What I would love to find, but have yet to, is a good floating rotor that exposes more of the wheel.  Actually have seen some, but thought they looked like crap themselves.  Would like a good looking rotor with more exposure though.  Of course the downside to that would be then needing to get the all-chromed version of the wheel to be exposed  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  .

TwoLane, that's exactly what I've been looking for........but, I thought you already had the mirrow-chrome version of the '05 SEEG wheels?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]   spyder

I don't know about Twolanerider, and not that I am wishing bad chrome on myself and my wonderful red SEEG, but I am waiting to see if the chrome goes bad and get the mirror chrome thunderstars under warranty.

well, MrsWeCVO, I don't think you'll have the bad chrome on your wheels at this late date.  Might have to spring for them on your dime.  [smiley=toff.gif] Har!  spyder

Have you checked out Lyndall Brake Rotors? They make a set of polished stainless steal rotors. Polished stainless is musch better than chrome.
Do a search for their web site, they look pretty good. They also offer some matching performance brake pads to enhance the stock set-up.

Good luck,

Grover

Grover, have looked before at their offerings.  It's been awhile but I remember at the time that my impression was that nothing I saw really exposed the wheel to any appreciably greater amount.  That would really be my goal for making the swap.  Just looking for a good floater that shows more wheel.
