2014 FLHRSE. My journey so far...
« on: May 30, 2018, 09:28:50 PM »

For some reason, I ended up on a Road King CVO. My last 3 bikes have had stereos and fairings and I will never have a bike without those again, and i ended up on this thing. I had the bike I loved, in the right color, with all the bolt on stuff you could bolt on. It was perfect, and in a moment of weakness, blinded by the idea of owning a CVO, I traded it for my current 2014 FLHRSE.

I tried to return it the next day, but my dealer just laughed and said no. I was stuck with it. A damn Road King, no stereo, no fairing, and no love for it.

Decided if i was going to be stuck with the Road King, I had to come up with some way to have a stereo. I did some research and found Dragonfly Cycles in California. Sent a message and a few hours later, the owner calls me and we discuss what i had, what i wanted and what my options were. I decided to go ahead and order a fairing, i added rear speakers to the set up, upgraded the 400 watt amp to 800 watts and added Sirius radio, just for good measure. Gonna take a few weeks to build, color match and ship, so time to strip down the bike.

I had to decide how i wanted to install the rear speakers. If i got the lid mount for the saddlebags, i would lose most of the tribal accents on the saddlebag. Decided to go old school and mount on inside of saddlebags, facing the tires. Had to drill holes

Never going to be able to see the holes that were drilled, but decided to do 1/4” and 1/8” holes to make it look decent

I have been running ape hangers for years, but getting older and decided not to go too high with this set up. I did decide i wanted a set of chubby bars, so contacted Vindikta and ordered a set of 1.5” fat bars. Only went 10” tall tho.
