I'm ordering the parts to replace the stock rear pegs with Passenger Floorboards, and use the pegs as Highway Pegs. The P&A is a little confusing as to all the parts needed. Can someone please confirm if I have everything covered.

I'm planning on ordering:

50357-04 Swept Wing passenger Floorboard Kit
53070-00 Chrome Passenger Floorboard Brackets
52312-07 Ironside Passenger Floorboard Insert Kit

It appears this covers everything for the Floorboards, but I'd like to be sure. Is there any other hardware or part I'll need.

Also, to relocate the passenger pegs to Engine Guard Highway Pegs, I was looking at:

50830-07 Adjustable Highway Peg Mounting Kit- Angled-Short

Has anyone ever used this type before. With only a 32" inseam, the regular Engine Guard Clamps aways left the Highway Pegs a little too far away. I thought these would take care of that.

Thanks for any help or comments on this. I was going to order them today, if possible.

Howie, that should do ya for the passenger footboards, but you might want to look at the brackets that came on the '04 - '06 Electra Glides.  They've got a little more style than the plain ol' square brackets.  The part number in my parts catalog is 47373-04, but I couldn't find that part number on the Harley website.  Maybe it's been superceded?

Good call, Louis.  The parts manual for my SEEG shows the part number as 50933-86, though.

Thanks Louis and Brian for the info on the pins. WTF, why aren't they included with one of these kits? Typical MoCo!  Also, which Pin is the right P/N? Hoist!

Don't know where they came from, but Elvis had some spacers on the brkts for the rider footboards that are like 1" thick when I bought the bike. The spacers put the boards that much further out from the frame and a LOT more comforable. Seems to me there was a thread about it back in late 05. Anyway, if someone knows what I'm talking about, I'd like the info as well since I want to put these on LD.

If so I will send you a pic of them.  Bought a digital camera but finding time to learn how to use it and download pics to puter  has been difficult. I also ordered the floorboard parts you mentioned, but not the pins. They are going to fit them as part of my deal so I guess I'll let them worry about that when they get them.

Probably interferes with your Flappers! Thanks for all the responses and suggestions. I ordered everthing last night for the rear footboards. Terry, I saw what you did, but you're more ambitious than I. Just don't let Suzanne show them to her in HS! Seriously, My wife's comfortable on the '03 RK so these Swept Wing shouldn't change her seating position. I'll install them this way, knowing I can always add the adjustable. Just doing it this way was $450 already! I can't believe that. That's a set of cams!!! Well next winter I wont have to buy passenger boards, so It'll be cam time then! Hoist!

I wasn't thinking of using them for highway pegs. I've seen a few bikes with them set in a different position for the passenger. This just gives a second resting place for the pillion on long haul days.

Got the Passenger Floorboard parts yesterday and mounted them this morning. Easy enough. If you press hard enough, you don't need dishwahing liquid to press the insert into the pan, past the pivot pins. And yes the pivot pins come with the hardware. You don't need to order seperate pivot pins. This time, I only wasted $7! They look OK, but the right side seems to stick out pretty far when the board is folded up. I think I like 'em, but gotta get used to them. This mod was for her. Definitely would not have done this if I were single. Looks better with the pegs! Hoist!

Good one Gene. the SE plaque is 5/64th's off! Once it sticks, that's it. Try as I did, to get it centered, I missed anyway. F it! Good enough. The clock's OK, but it's made for a std RK with a flat dash panel. The ridge in the center of the SERK's dash panel, leaves it just slightly elevated at the outside edges. I think I'll leave it on for awhile. At least til the battery in it dies! The tach is fine. It was the odometer that went haywire. Like I said, it fixed itself, for now. Have to keep an eye on it.

I know the Mrs. likes floorboards better. That's why I did it. You don't think I'd just add extra weight to the bike for any other reason. It would cut .001 off my 1/4 mile time without 'em!

Simpler remedy for fussing. Pull the passenger backrest of and do a wheelie! That usually settles them down! Hoist!

Nige...it's unlikely they will make significant changes to the SERK for 08.  Since it's a touring platform, they are not likely to put a fatter tire on the back like they did on the 06 SEFB and 06 SEVROD, you know they're not going to do anything to the engines after just one year of production.  There might be some cosmetic changes, but nothing earth shattering.  That's just my opinion, as nobody really knows what the hell they might do.

I'm not really considering cancelling it, but it just keeps pi***ng me off that every month they seem to knock the delivery back further.

The bike was ordered last year, as soon as they announced that they were going to produce a SERK, and a requested delivery of February was asked for so that I could register it on the 1st March. Now it looks like the bike won't be here until the end of June and my major trips of the year will be done.

I hope the MoCo's CVO plant are just covering their bases and that I will see the bike before the stated date.

Nige...it's unlikely they will make significant changes to the SERK for 08.  Since it's a touring platform, they are not likely to put a fatter tire on the back like they did on the 06 SEFB and 06 SEVROD, you know they're not going to do anything to the engines after just one year of production.  There might be some cosmetic changes, but nothing earth shattering.  That's just my opinion, as nobody really knows what the hell they might do.

I tend to agree with you TC. I can't see any more major changes being made for 08 so no point in waiting. Besides I really like the CACO SERK that I have ordered.

Having said that there was a rumour that they may produce an RK with a 230 section rear and a 1200cc water cooled power plant kicking out 125bhp in it's stock format !

I feel better now that I saw you had done the same.  I put one in the same place last fall.  It is definitely a needed item. I need to do something about that naked transmission cover as well.  Any ideas?  I think we got short changed there.  Have you noticed the SE transmission upgrade kit in the P&A catalog?  Do you think we have that since it doesn't show that it is available for the SERK?

I own that decal for almost two years. Each time I am trying to fit it onto one of the bikes, I walk away with the decal still wrapped. It seems "too much" whereever one might want to put it. For the SERK I have even added the Fork Lock Cover PN # 71790-05 for a cleaner look.

Same here.  I waited until HD came back out with theirs.  They used to make them then stopped.  This is a case of the aftermarket part not being as well designed.  Many of the lock covers require the key to be filed down a bit.  I had no issues.  Also the previous version swivels as opposed to ours which flip up.  There is not a lot of clearance between the console and the riser cover. 

I have no passenger peg issues.  The wife won't ride.   

 My buddie's wife likes to ride so much (on the back) that it cuts into "man time".

Sorry I didn't notice this before. It appears that the Screaming Eagle 6-speed is different than the '06 Dyna/'07 Models standard 6-speed transmissions. That's a nice cover in the catalog, but for 300 bucks they can keep it. And they don't even throw in the gasket! I liked the old ribbed ones on the 5-speeds. I was disappointed when they changed that. Why don't you see about getting it engraved with the SE logo?

And I did have to file both keys for them to work with the fork lock cover.
