Thanks Cabo.....I feel pretty fortunate getting it for free (especially since I was prepared to go plop down the $1,300).

Most people who ride in California have toured Corbin.  I took the photos for all of those of you who may have never seen such an operation.  I'm happy that you enjoyed them.

Bill you're not out of the woods yet.......Corbin sells nationwide.  They have stores in Hollister, Calif., Sturgis, and in Daytona.  They are at all the big runs and will custom make that seat right over the phone and ship it to you.  98% of their seats are done without meeting the owner.

She did like it and the $1300 din't scare her off!

But....well.....I have to admit it, but I actually like the stock seat!  It looks goods, sits low and I have enough padding in the a$$ that it is almost comfortable.

JCZ...same problem as with my Mustang seat.  Low profile pass. backrest doesn't fit without
bunching up.  Too bad too.  I hate to spend the cash for a slightly higher backrest.  So I cope with the stock seat, which is actually more comfortable than I thought it would be.

Thanks for the pics. I have a Corbin "heated dual tour" and also a "stinger solo" on order (and a rider backrest and tour-pak trunkrest). I went to the Corbin store in Daytona and test fit the seats on the bike before ordering one. I'm having an extra 3/4" added to the "stinger" so it won't move me too far back.  I ordered them 5 weeks ago and am STILL waiting. I've had Corbin seats before and know it'll be worth the wait.

Attached is a pic of the "stinger" seat and bacrest on my bike when I was at Corbin.

Not a bad lookin seat for riding solo.  I didn't know that they made that, with backrest.  I got to have a backrest, after back surgery a number of years ago.

Ride report.  I've put about 800 miles on since I got this seat and I love it.  However, the wife does not like it at all.

Our bike rides stiffer than the regular FLHT platform.  That, coupled with a seat that is much more firm than the stock FLHT seat, makes it just too hard for her.....especially when I hit any bumps.  She says that it's bone jarring (I'm not riding back there, so I don't know first hand, how it feels for her).

Anybody know of a softer seat (more padding.....similar to the Ultra Classic stock seat)??

my wife had the same problem with my corbin(on a different bike).  On the seeg she  likes the mustang but the ride is still a little harder than the stock ultra, but she tolerates it.

Keep it for when you ride and switch to a more comfortable seat for her.  Your custom corbin is just too cool!

I don't know if a softer seat is the answer. I think a softer seat will let her bottom out sooner and more often. I was riding an Ultra with Harley Air Seat on it. This was like sitting in my lounge chair in front of the TV.

This is my opinion.
The SEEG with the stock seat rides like a mini bike to me. The Corbin seat I have is much better. "not good" but better.  The old lady spent a bunch of time on the Ultra then got on the SEEG stock seat and hated it. She is tolerating the Corbin seat cause she loves to ride. If it was up to her she would have me keep the Ultra.

I wonder if there is a way to soften the shocks or replace with something else.

JCZ: Try sticking the Corbin seat on your buddies FLHT and see how it feels on her butt. I may do the same this week with my ultra.

I just got the Corbin with heat. But the bike is not done yet so I don't know how it will ride for her. I had the Harley air seat on the last bike, so she might not be happy. When it was stock she said "get rid of the seat". I put on the seat from my 98 Road King ( I had bought the touring one) and she could live with that one.
But the SE will be a trike so it will have alot softer ride than stock. The paint will be back by 5-1 so I will finish the bike and than we will see how the Corbin will be.

I may be selling the seat that was made in the slide show at the begining of this thread.

It's the seat with blue flame stich pattern and heater for rider and passenger with high/low settings.  It would also include the King Tour Pak back rest and the rider backrest.  This is the link to the actual seat........http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=12&uid=912505&gid=4000502&

Just posting this to see if anybody might be interested if and when I decide to sell it.  Have to see what the new seat is like, once I get it, first.
