Ooops, did have the part number for the light that exists in the accessory catalog.  The dual function light is 68358-07.

Sandunbar,

If I go with the 3m tape approach would I need the parts from Stud plate down?  Is it your opinion the 3m tape solution is not a good one?

I went the 3m tape approach first - it worked fine for a month or so - but then started coming loose - so I bit the bullet and used the stud plate.  It isn't going anywhere now!   :2vrolijk_21:

That might be the stuff of a poll Mark.  So far mine with tape has held up though.

Even if it did not you'd not necessarily have to go the whole stud plate route with three holes in each side.  Catch one hole in each side with a bolt and nut.  On top of the 3M emblem tape can't see it ever going anywhere.

Jerry, with LED bulbs back there you're adding less load to the bike than many do with the doo-dads we hang on the bikes themselves.  And those various doo-dads are commonly on some accessory circuit or another.  Many, like saddlebag latch lights, spoiler and tour pak lights are designed to be plugged in to the accessory conector or t/s or park light circuits.  So I'm not at all concerned by running a small load of LEDs in the trailer.

The inline fuses are easy if you're so inclined.  Just hit the parts store and tell the counter guy you want the physically smalled inline fuse connector he can give you.  You've already got a splice where the pigtail off that interconnect adapator you just linked to meets the trailer harness.  Just put the fuses in between the two; in between the interconnect's pigtail and the downstream part of the trailer harness.

Load the fuse holders with small fuses (3 amp is plenty for LEDs back there).  If anything happens downstream of that connector behind the battery you pop the little fuse.  It makes for a much neater and much simpler install then that rat's nest we saw on yours that the electrical tape jockey from Bumpus had created when installing your isolator.
Au contraire.  Can't let you blame that on anyone but moi.  Guilty as charged.

Order block from ebay  (x)  done

The isolator is shipped as a standard part of Harley hitch - I'll not use it per your instructions. What inline fuses do you recommend using?

Do you have p/n's of the LED bulbs I should get?  Did you replace the internal light bulb with LED also?

Many thanks 2Lane!

Mark
On the Turbo the side marker and third brake (if you got that) are already LEDs.  Bushtec makes a complete LED kit for the run & turn lights for $99 that replaces the stock ic bulbs.  That is what I did.  Never thought about the internal light, but no it is not led.  Don't ever use it anyway - wonder why I even got it.

Mark, are you sure yours is not coming with the LED's already? I might be wrong but I thought all the new Bushtec's are made with the LED upgrade Jerry is referring to above. Not sure when they started that but I am pretty certain it has been that way since Jan. 1.
Congrats on the new trailer, it is great not having to wait 10 weeks.

True, true.  But with the isolator and the harness for the trailer there is no way to have it neat.  Just too much spaghetti to have to tuck in.

Just spoke to Sally @ Bushtec to confirm.  LEDs are standard on the side marker lights, not the tail lights.  Tail lights - run, brake & turn come with incandescent bulbs.  Can upgrade to LEDs for $99.

Added - Bushtec LED upgrade is for Turbo models only!  The stock IC bulbs are replaced with an LED board - don't know exactly how many LEDs are on it but it is plenty bright.
