Hadn't seen that one for a few months.  Enough time has passed, however, that I was surprised to have nearly identical "first reactions" to it each time.

1) Many ads to get the right "feeling" for what we prefer to have represented to us and of us are best done in black and white.

2) It's hard to know the other side's perspective on such things.  But that seems like an ad and a message that is much better suited to someone who has already been in the saddle than someone who has not yet been there.  Wonder how much they are marketing to retain current markets and how much they are marketing to attract new market share?

3) I personally much prefer this ad and those like it over the "cute" ads like the stupid sheep.  The best of the "cute" ads was probably the spot that ended with the bra on the handlebars.  But though it amused it did not speak to what is really best about the experience.  This one did.

Really?  Man, the only thing I can think of is all the bikes strung out making you think of the "light trail" when the Enterprise goes faster than light.  But even that was a stretch.  What were you thinking of?

we are the borg,

Nope, never got there.  Bet Harley hopes that most others don't either.  An ad trying to represent diversity and individuality and even non-conformance (but all within the "right" group) that instead leaves one considering assimilation probably wasn't their intent  :huepfenlol2: .

I still enjoy this commercial and thanks Kydude for bringing it up again. Several things come to mind watching it like we're all going the same way, just a little differently or the acknowledgment that that there's bunches of us out there but in the end, we've chosen a path and end up on our own anyway or that, despite it all, it's still a pretty darn good life when we can all mount up and find some awesome roads to just enjoy and the chances are pretty good you're going to find someone along the way that will share some of our attitudes, or . . . .

Anyway, I like the commercial. Never got to the borg thing though.
