Thanksgiving rituals for the non-cook!
« on: November 24, 2010, 03:24:08 PM »

My son and I try our best to stay out of the way during the day's preparation.
We have managed to achieve that goal every year by hanging out on the golf course.

I'm not so lucky.  I'm in charge of smoking the turkey on Thanksgiving morning.

Its all good though.  I'm also in charge of smoking cigars and sipping scotch all morning too.  Makes the holiday so very nice! :bananarock:

We have "Redneck Thanksgiving"... I get the kids outside on atv's, mini bikes , anything that they can ride  :pepper:....... we eat  :2vrolijk_21:....... ride some more :bananarock: ...... then go fishing to end the day..,... that's beer time for me  :drink:....... usually a great day and keeps growing in numbers every year for some reason.

Our family feeds cattle for a living, not turkey's; therefore we are grilling ribeye steaks. Do us a favor and eat one of the 29 lean beef cuts for your next meal.
Forcast is looking like 20 degrees for a high maybe a short walk to hunt pheasants after steaks, well see if we get into the firewater before lunch or not. Remember Saftey first.
Have a Safe and happy T-Day.

LOVE the ribeye. Fat equals flavor and that marbeling makes for a great steak.
But, alas, as a non-cook on turkey day it's not looking good for a beef indulgence.

Well this year I fried fish Wednesday evening for 20 good friends, also we fried 9 turkeys and
1 Boston butt. All they while sipping on some Makers 46.
Thursday I fried 3 more turkeys for our use, more Makers 46. Life is good in the Lowcountry!
I let the wimmins do all the other cooking.   ;D
