O/T. Headline from MSN Now
« on: October 30, 2012, 08:50:59 AM »

I posted this on HTT but I think it deserves another post:

Headline from MSN Now: "Guard at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier stands fast as Sandy approaches"

What can you say about these guys?  I'm speechless at their devotion..

The national news had a quick blurb on the guard standing firm at the tomb.  Dedication, national pride, honored service men and women...we live is such a great country and this example of our national pride is one of many our military do on a daily basis.  Makes me proud and humble to see this type of dedication...

From earlier times when they were ordered to stand down because of a hurricane, they way that I remember quote, they respectfully declined and stated that they had friends overseas being shot at that would kick their ass when they got back home if they abandined their post becuase of some wind.

Back then, the officer in charge of the unit also walked the post during the worst part of the storm.
