And how are the CVO pups coping?
Thanks for asking, Duane. There is still some sort of "trumping" that Evo feels she must do. She is DETERMINED to be the top Boxer around here. I think I've related either here or elsewhere about how she turns into a holy terror if she thinks she isn't getting the attention she deserves.....doing things like strewing toilet paper all through the house, chewing up my Red Wing house shoes and Renea's riding boots, pooping in the great room.........and then just looking at us like "whatcha gonna do about it? You love me; you know you do."
So we're working through those issues. Destruction has stopped. Yesterday evening she pooped in the great room for the first time in a week.........likely 'cause she's so spoiled and hates going out in the rain for anything other than a quick whiz. Another factor is she IS an 8 month old puppy. The thing that is puzzling is she is house broken......had that part down 2 months prior to Annie Bea's passing.
We've also learned not to mention "Annie Bea" around the Boxers. Springer gets mopey, and Evo starts looking for her......getting really excited. Had this same challenge with Annie Bea when Sassy passed away back in 2004......so had to relearn. They feel things just like we do.
Other than that, they are happy and doing well.........we're two weeks into the post Annie Bea era, and there appears to be a new equilibrium settling in. Evo is going to be the Alpha Bitch. Springer, on the other hand, is like "yeah.......OK.......whatever, woman." Pack order..........HA!
Sounds VERY familiar to the way things run on the bipedal side of the household.
