If it is bare Aluminum a high speed polisher like a mothers power ball and a product called Wicked metal polish is the best that I have found. It is available at Tractor Trailer dealerships.

I use Never Dull and an old T-Shirt on the polished aluminum parts on the Sportster.  MAAS polish and Simichrome work well too.

I use Blue Magic on the aluminum wheels on my '05 SE Fatboy and people often think they've been chrome plated. Its non abrasive so its good on the plated bits as well.

I was at a event in Wildwood NJ and bought this product from a vendor called Master Formula, a polish and a separate bottle of sealer along with some micro cloths. Anyway this stuff is the best I've ever used on my wheels. I think over the winter months I'm going to get the dealer to take my tires off the rims and do them right, polished and sealed.

I use the master forumla as well, i used it on my Big Truck as well, wheels, bumper side boxes and it worked very well, and beleive me if it will take the punishment of the rain, snow, ice and the crap they put on the roads in the winter it will work on a bike.

I've used a product called BOMS AWAY and it worked very well with little effort.  It used to be called BOMS AWAY but it looks like they changed the name of their products or were bought out.  It is now called Captain Richards Best.  He needs a new marketing guy.  http://www.captainrichardsbest.com

The BOM is the name of their original product which I use in between washes.  It is awesome.  BOM stands (or used to) stand for Best Overall Method and in my opinion is (was) just as it's name states.  You could clean your bike between washes easily and it looked great.  I had people come up and ask what I used because the chrome and paint just looked different - it "popped".  The BOMS AWAY aluminum polish and is the best polish I have ever used.  I see it is now called BOMBS AWAY.  It has very little abrasive content, if any, so it won't work on heavily corroded aluminum but on dulled aluminum it's the best.  I've used them all during my bike ownerships and this one is pretty d@mn good.  BTW - I have no affiliation.  Have any of you used or are familiar with the BOM products?

Try this:
http://www.caswellplating.com/
Right now their aluminum polishing kit is $20 (1/2 off retail price) and includes several felt bobs & wheels, which I think are worth the $20 by themself! Check it out! :2vrolijk_21:

Whats the best polish for aluminum ?

Hey there,
I'd like to throw my hat in the ring if I could.
My name is Clint and I own the company that produces Sharkhide Metal Protectant and polish. I just like to be up front and let folks know who their talking to. I'm not so much here to try to sell you something as I am to show you what's possible with my products and hopefully answer any questions I can about them.
No matter what type of polish you like, most all of them can get to a great shine. The trick is finding a polish that gets to that shine the fastest and with the least amount of work. Mine is a single step polish that's a bit more aggressive than most because we not only use it to clean up and maintain an all ready polished surface, but we also can use it to polish raw aluminum (and any other metal) to a mirror finish. Then we apply the Sharkhide Metal Protectant and were good to go for years. No more need to polish. We just clean with warm soapy water and dry.
I know these aren't pictures of a bike, but in this case aluminum is aluminum.
I hope I can help with your project.
Clint

THIS IS A BOAT WE POLISHED THIS PAST SUMMER. WE POLISHID IT WITH SHARKHIDE METAL POLISH, THEN APPLIED TWO COATS OF THE SHARKHIDE METAL PROTECTANT

[/img]

THIS IS A SHOT AFTER SEVERAL WEEKENDS OF USE ON VARIOUS LAKES AND RIVERS IN THE MIDWEST. IF YOU LOOK IN THE CENTER OF THE PONTOON YOU'LL SEE A DARK STREAK. THIS IS A SPOT I MISSED WHEN I WIPED ON THE METAL PROTECTANT.
