It's getting the seat done right now. It was just finished getting built and going to the seat guy now.

Great looking bike.  It's amazing what going the extra mile and painting the frame does for a custom conversion.  Could you ask who the manufacturer is on the rear fender?  Would like to know for a future build.  Thanks and my compliments to your friend and his design taste.

I'm sure they are...lot's of guys around here mounting them on the bottom of the bags. It looks especially good on this bike since it keeps the tail light and spoiler lights on the same visual plane.  Bet it's a nice look if they're tied in to working as a brake light also.

I'm pretty sure it is a fat bagger fender. That is where he got the idea of doing a Road glide.
I will have to find out about the bag spoiler/extension things. It has a built 95 that is hopefully going to have 120 ish HP. It has diamond cut cylinders on the outside. After the seat is done it is going in for tuning.

Post by: NATIVE BAGGERS on January 03, 2006, 09:30:08 PM
The 21" front wheels are becoming more popular on the Baggers. Here's another Bagger with a 21. This one has a l owered Road Glide fender on it to preserve the traditional lines of these bikes. Paul

I've been running this 21" front wheel all year and haven't noticed any I'll handling. The footprint is nearly as wide as the stock 130. The widest tire available for the 21 is a 120/70/21.

The 120/70 in a 21" will fit up inside a stock FL front fender?

Its a weld in bracket that gets painted to match. It gets rid of the rivets too. I'll offer a bolt on chrome bracket soon. Paul

That screws the pooch right there.  Not screwing with these high dollar paint to match CVO fenders to change a little fitment.  Appreciate the tire size info.  But the sales pitch for the other parts will fall on deaf ears.

I like the looks of the front portion of the fender, but the rear seems to be "kicked out" a little at a strange angle near the chrome skirt.  Is this a result of the repositioning?
Title: Re: Pictures of my friends new Road Glide

some people think the skinny tire look on a large vehicle looks good.....it's all the rage to put little bicycle type tires on tall skinny rims on full sized trucks and SUVs... :o.....they must think it looks good.  I think a small 21" tire looks good on a chopper.  8-)  JMHO  ;)  spyder

Title: 21" lowered fender
Post by: NATIVE BAGGERS on January 05, 2006, 02:07:43 PM
A Road King fender with a skirt is the same length as a Road Glide/Road King Custom fender without a skirt. On the red bike I added some extra metal on the leading edges just above the skirt so that I could mount the skirt on the very bottom of this Road Glide fender.
Title: 21" tire
Post by: NATIVE BAGGERS on January 05, 2006, 02:19:55 PM
Spydglide - The 21 we run isn't skinny at all. It is a 120, but after you mount it on a 3.5" wide rim its almost the same width as a 130 on a stock 3" rim. Its nowhere near as skinny as most chopper tires.

Twolane - This red bike has front airride that when collapsed sits on the front bumstops. I can cruise around on the bumpstops (on very smooth surfaces!) with no fear of the fender hitting anything. There are absolutely no clearance problems.

Also, the fender isn't kicked out nearly as much as it looks like in the close up photo with the front wheel turned. It looks like that BECAUSE THE FRONT WHEEL IS TURNED. Check out this direct side view shot and I think you'll agree. Paul.

Nice RG!  Your pal should be pleased to locate one in that obvious condition with low-low miles.  None of my business what he paid, but pass along the word that I saw a similar condition unit sell for within $1,250 of the new msrp and the new owner was pleased to get it bought.  Congrats on a valuable piece of machinery and a great investment!  Hard to say motorcycle and investment in the same breath, but it sure works with the RG's.

Great ride Good for your buddy. Must be awesome with those Thunderheader slip ons. Looks like it's in perfect shape. Makes me miss my 01 SERG every time I see any SERG

Don't believe I said it was any of my business what your friend paid, but we do share price info on this site in order to keep track of what our rides are worth and to aid in others buying. We had a thread the other day in which the poster was asking what the cost should be. In addition, I have had my eye out for the right one of these for some time and have been tracking prices. Anyone who reads my posts knows that.

Thanks, and best of luck to your bud on his new ride
