Has anyone put apes of their road glide? Pros or cons out there?

Jimbo....I've only seen one.  It is a set of "wild ones" and belongs to an acquaintance who I usually see at Daytona.  If the bike's there I'll get you a picture and post here.  He may have changed back as he was getting a lot of razzing last year about apes on a bagger.  If he has changed, I'll also get a price on the take off's.

These were 8 or 8.5 and like you, I didn't think they looked that bad for the amount of friendly grief he was taking.

Sr from OCC put a set of 15"ers on an RG and it looked kinda weird with the fairing, but the whole thing is about being comfortable and not about looks isn't it ?

Had a guy on this site tell me the 12 " Wild-1 Chubby's on Elvis look BOZO.  :D  Didn't hurt my feelings any. Made me laugh actually, All I know is they are damn comfortable and that's what counts.

That'd be enough to keep me from doing it.

To each his own of course.  No one else should give a rat's ass about what I think their bike looks like.  But whenever I see apes that rise above a fairing one word always pops in to my head.  Compensating  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] .

Thanks for all of your mixed thoughts. I have purchased a set of 12" apes several months ago, however they are not on yet. (Lack of time) I will be heading to Daytona Beach on Sat. morning for a week so I'll see what I run across down there. Thanks again. I will send pictures if they ever get on.......Jimbo

BOTTOM LINE - DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND DO NOT LET ANYONE INFULENCE YOU WITH HIS REGARD...UNLESS OF COURSE IF IS AGAINST THE LAW...THEN, BUYER BEWARE!!!
