Title: Baker F6R Reverse conversion
Post by: trippy on January 24, 2018, 07:45:53 AM
Hi guys,

Am waiting delivery of a Baker F6R reverse conversion kit for my 07 CVO Road King, so going through the instructions in order to get any other parts I made need, came across a section that says I need to buy the cable operated clutch adjusting parts (rod/plate/screw etc)  bit surprised at this, an additional $50 (£40 in the UK).

Has anyone on here done the F6R on a CVO with hydraulic clutch, if so, can you confirm you needed to buy these parts?

Thanks.

Hi,

Fitted one to my CVO Fat Bob a couple of years ago, I did fit the manual clutch adjusting parts as mentioned in the build instructions, also had to buy a longer hydraulic line.

Cheers

I did one last month and yes you need the cable clutch rod and adjuster, and like Dave said you also need a different(longer and a banjo fitting at the transmission end) hydraulic line.

Thanks guys,  bit odd having to convert back to manual adjustment, but as long as it works as good as they say, it will be worth it.

I didn't install my F6R trippy - had it done by a transmission specialist, but I sure do like it - and you will too!

Took about 5 days to do mine, taking it easy and following the build instructions, first motorcycle gearbox I have had in bits.
Got a 50 ton press and it took about 20 ton to get the gear off the shaft and about 10 ton to put it on the new shaft.
Other than that reasonbly straight forward. Also converted it to mid controls at the same time due to being vertically challanged.

Yeah

That's what I am planning to do the work my self but a friend an indi Harley tech that I`ve known for years is going to help with the gear set shaft removal etc, but no rush far too cold at the moment.

One thing have found a company that does made to measure brake/clutch lines, I know I need a 10mm or 3/8" bango at one end, does anyone know what the fitting is to connect to the original Harley line?
`
Thanks all

Hi trippy,

Mine was a banjo fitting at both ends, had a HEL custom one made.
Left the original one inplace then after doing the conversion measured how much longer the new one needed to be.
