Xr 1200
« on: November 11, 2021, 07:19:58 PM »

Howdy folks, I picked up an xr 1200 and changed all the fluids. The bike had been sitting at least five years and it seems to be burning a little oil. Or at least it smells so. Do yall think it just needs to be ridden? Or do I need to investigate further. It starts right up and runs/ idles good. I haven’t ridden it much.  I cant find much info on the XRS other than tricking them out for the track.

I had one last year. Never got the sense it was burning any oil. Is it smoking out the exhaust?  If not, I’d ride it for a while.
