Help with a half helmet
« on: May 18, 2009, 12:40:56 AM »

I need to buy a couple of half helmets to install my head sets. Need some opinions on what to buy. I looked at the
scorpion with the internal visor. I like them but can't seem to get away from the mellon head look. Any advice?

Take a look at carbonfiberproducts.com . you'd have to get some kind of ear piece inserts for the speakers, as you would with any 1/2 helmets

I have the Scorpion, love the visor in the rain and bugs at night. But I also hate the melon head look. I'm looking too.
I think Larry meant carbonfiberhelmets.com

I think Larry meant carbonfiberhelmets.com
http://carbonfiberhelmets.com/dothelmets.htm
Sorry I missed that, It's the smallest & lightest DOT helmet out there. it is a true carbon fiber, the HD CF is not really, just made to look like one., Form & Function

Hey everyone,
I need a little help with helmets.  My wife gets migraines at the drop of a dime and I thought a half hemlet would be the best for her.  Currently our state doesn't require us to wear one and normally we don't, but we're planning on doing some traveling, so at some point I know we're going to need them.

Anyway, after that long explanation, I think I want a half helmet, but I want to be able to use the Harley intercom that came with the bike.  Is this possible and can someone point me in the right direction as to what ear pieces I would need to get.  Also, I'm having a hard time visualizing how the mike will attach to a half helmet.  The three quarter helmets I understand, but the half ones???

Thanks!!

I also would suggest the HD hybrid helmets.  If you lift one up you immediately notice the weight or lack of.  Feels like a bicycle helmet.

My wife and I have used a Seer helmet for years and love them.  These are the same ones that most police use and are fairly light, but really cool in hot weather.  You can order the ear pieces to mount your speaker to.  Large peek but a slim looking helmet.

The best part is that you can order them colour matched to your specific bike.

check them out at...

I got the HCI carbon fiber also and I like the helmet.  I have no idea what will work with it in terms of headsets.  If you happen to get one of these and you find a way to make headsets work with it, please let me know.

Dave, I can help you with that, send me a few pics of the inside, need to see how the strap attaches to the helmet.

I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow (which is actually later today).  For now, I need to get some sleep.  I know, you are just waking up.
