Apparently you cant put the volume all the way up. Stage 2 is a bust. Why have a level if you cant attain it. I thought it was put there because the bike could handle it. Anyway the warrantly claim has been filed.
Anyone else blow out the speakers on a 15 street glide cvo?
-
Wow !!! WTF !!! Did not think that could happen.
-
I had it at 80% for like an hour straight the other day...it was pretty good at 65-70 mph.
-
Wow..I'm half deaf, run mine 100% when going to the road..thanks for the info!
-
I regularly ride at 100% volume at freeway speeds
But then I am not listening to AC\DC!

Never been past half. Can't see any reason to? I have to turn it down sometimes at that level because my ears hurt.

Did you upgrade the speakers to Stage II, or just the amplifiers? I don't think I'd expect the stock speakers to handle a high output amp at full power, if that's what you did. If you did upgrade the speakers to the Stage II versions, then yes I agree you shouldn't have had those failures.

Stage II is stock on the SESG

OK, now I understand. I thought he was talking about upgrading to the Stage II. Now, if the Stage II components were supposed to be stock on the bike, including the speakers, I guess the next question is did they actually install the correct speakers at the assembly plant? Not that Harley would ever make a mistake of course, but just for arguments sake let's question it anyway. ;)
I think I'd verify alongside the dealership folks exactly what comes out, and what goes back in.

Warranty was approved...only the tweeters are working and the rear stage 2 are on back order ....dammit...

I blew a tweeter on right bag. Replaced under warranty. But now I have an intermittent pop from same side when turning on. Gonna have to have it checked soon
Don't know how it blew. Never had it at full volume. But did notice it didn't and still doesn't sound as good as bike I demoed.

No, but I bet if I turned my volume all the way up it'd blow my speakers on my '08!

It blew all the speakers? Sounds like some sort of power surge to or from the amps. Thats massive power to blow them all at once. Usually they will blow one at a time

Unfortunately, I think you are right about the Stage II speakers being a bust. Myself, CreeseHD, Copyless, and others all had the system installed in our CVO's. All of us had problems with the speakers cutting out. My dealer was going to try to replace my fairing speakers, but they were backordered for months. CreeseHD and I both got Harley to take the systems back. Copyless is working on another system now.
I'm not sure if the issue is software, hardware, or a combination of both. Hopefully Harley get's it worked out soon.

Rear primary side speaker went first followed a day later by both fairing speakers.
I think the tweeters were good on the fairing and the rear brake side speaker never went...but they replaced all of them just to be sure.
Sounds great again.
As for the Intermitent dropping there's this.
