OK. No hair dryer, but I bet you got a paint gun, as in one that gets hot and peels paint.

Uggggh, no I guess that is not a good idea,

Some people swear by the use of a hair dryer to warm up the doublesided sticky tape under the SUBTOF before removal. I just used a piece of dental floss and slowly worked it down by moving it side to side. There was just a little residue remaining and you can use an adhesive remover. They can be picked up at your local pharmacy or Home Depot the most common one I think is Goo be gone or something like that. I just used an isopropyl alcohol pad and it removed the residue fine, washed fender and waxed it.

That was it exactly Mike.  Once Mobe had confirmed it was ok to force it I just got behind it with a piece of fishing line and cleaned off the residue with alcohol.  90 second job.

The SUBTOTF was of course being used to cover the stud that goes through the rear brace.  If anyone ever wants to remove their SUBTOTF in the futre here's what's underneath.

And since anything would look better than the SUBTOTF here's the concho that I thought would suffice as "anything."

Here it is a little closer to show the detail of the piece Iron Braids offers should anyone be so inclined.  Only thing I'll really have to pay attention to now is keeping a good coat of wax on the rear fender and back of the King tour pak.  That would have have been done anyway.  But even more important now as the braids swinging in the breeze might eventually abrade the painted surface if left to rub on bare paint.

Then here's what a pair of them do disrupt that large blank field that is the back of the King tour pak.  The chopped pak is really fine and doesn't need the help.  But the King pak is just really big and really bare.

To kind of complete the theme I got a pair of levers from Iron Braids as well that use black for the tie offs at the end and the same burgundy and tan colors for the braiding.  The burgundy matches one of the red shades on the bike very well, the tan complements the gold and the black ties in the seat.  Plus they're just a little more comfortable and a little less vibratory to have your hands laying on for hours at a time.

Like the emblem back there too Mobe.  In fact not really sure which I prefer.  Someday when the Concho gets so beat up and nasty that something else had to be done I'll try it the other way.

Hey, I like 'um both.  That's what's so great about these scooters, we can personalize 'um and enjoy the different approaches.  I didn't like HD's stupid black thing on there though.  Not up to the rest of the bike's appearance.  Maybe the CVO Site Emblem would look good or the Maggie Hollar Screamin' Chicken deal?
