Yellow paint
« on: June 11, 2005, 11:17:25 AM »

I've got a question for you fanatics, I want to put a Fatboy front fender on my SEEG, and switch the paint scheme from more grey than yellow to more yellow than grey, (like the rest of the bike), but the painter tells me he can't get the yellow paint, and is afraid that he can't match it. No help from the dealers parts department, either. Anybody out there have any ideas?

Apparently the paint manufacturer's paint codes can be gotten off the bottles of touch up paint.  So start off getting a touch up paint set.  Even if the numbers are right and a paint shop mixes perfectly though you're still not home free.  It's a multi stage paint job after all.  So every bit as much art as science in the application.
