Seat question
« on: May 27, 2004, 10:26:26 PM »

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm thinking about getting the Road King comfort stitch seat. I was wondering if there is any way to get a taller sissy bar so I don't need the tourpak. I need a backrest for the wife and have yet to order the tourpak.

The stock harley sissy bar works fine with the same docking locations.  I just take the one off my roadking and use it!

I was in the same situation, the wife got on the standard seat for about 20 miles and then said we need to get another seat. I went along with her and got the RK comfort stitch seat because "if Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy". I found the stock back rest standard too short so went with the matched to the seat RK version and it is fine. I must say after a couple of 300 mile trips the RK seat is much more comfortable, but the stock drivers back rest seems too short to fit the fatter seat.

Road King comfort stitch seat part #51157-04.  I tried one the bike felt like I was sitting on the tank, way to far forward. [smiley=beerchug.gif]
