Title: 2015 CVO ROAD GLIDE ULTRA PRICES
Post by: 16HD117 on February 11, 2015, 01:25:31 PM
What are the 2015 CVO Road Glide Ultras selling for?

MSRP, MSRP plus, below MSRP

Doesn't that depend on timing, geography, dealer, dealer relationship, customer sophistication, TRADE value (if any) and God knows what else?    :nixweiss:

A group of us stopped at Sierra Vista HD in Arizona last week.  The dealership is 5 miles from the Mexican border and practically in the middle of nowhere. I was surprised to see that they had a CVO at all.  They wanted $5,000 over but that was negotiable.  Isn't everything?    :huepfenlol2:

I paid MSRP but got $1,000 in parts,  two services and  good trade value.  Bought the ESP out of state so did good there.  Knowledge is power.  (Thanks again to Simon / DesertHog for help with the ESP).

MSRP for 2015's and 4-6000 off on 2014 left overs. Didn't see any leftovers yesterday out on the floor (and didn't ask)
What color are you thinking?

Local dealers around Nashville started the model year at $2000 to $5000 over.  Since we've gotten into winter and new has worn off they are around MSRP to +$1000.  I priced one at a local dealer last weekend that wanted MSRP + Freight + Prep + Doc Fees.  Out the door was about $1500 over MSRP not including taxes but we finished discussion with when I'm ready to buy lets discuss Prep and Doc Fees.  Freight and Taxes are pretty firm.  I've heard several posters say their dealer is MSRP but most of those get deposits pretty early on expected bikes.

Yep, the local dealer does just that, he had two deposits for a CVO Road glide long before HD announced the return.  We just did the deposit incase, and it paid off.

With in a day or maybe two of the announcement of the CVO RG Ultra, he had a deposit on all 8 of his allotted SERGU's and some more waiting in hopes some one backs out, or he gets additional ones.

When you sell at MSRP from the start they go quick.

According to my dealer, having a legitimate deposit and a customer name attached to that deposit allows the dealer to make certain requests out of their upcoming allotment. Example, with my deposit I was able to request an incoming CVO that was a red RG. And when the order confirmation cycle went through on October 15th, HD sent confirmation for a 2015 red RG for an estimated February-March 2015 delivery.

Not sure of the price yet but I would venture to guess MSRP like they always do.  This one is right out of the crate ready for prep.  It's at Knoxville HD West and should be out for the public today.  I've seen the Burgundy Blaze, Abyss blue and now the Carbon dust.  All three are great lookers but the Carbon Dust stands out to me.  Beauty of a steed....

Let's face it.
You are going to get hosed on your trade. HD's do not bring what they used to on trade.
If you can afford it, go for it!
Just remember, HD's 40K bike is made no better than their 20K bike.
Only more stuff on them. Quality, in my opinion, is lacking.

Upon delivery:
Dent in front fender (ok,ok, could be shipping problem)
Paint on saddlebag cover bubbled. Bad from factory.
Milky chrome on wheels.
Sound system OK but program that runs it stinks.
Front fairing not straight
Chrome on mirrors is average at best.
Engine stalls out occasionally for no reason when revving up a little before taking off at a light. (No, the ETIMS (or whatever) is disabled)
Transmission howls in second gear.
Engine sounds like the parts are going to raddle off of it.
Cold starts sound like the engine has no oil in it for about 1.5 seconds. Dealer says "That's normal".

OH! let's not forget. Most of the additional stuff on this CVO American Made motorcycle was made in ....... NOT THE USA.
You get my drift.
Love the way it rides though.

I can PI$$ and MOAN about the Motor Company but I have to say, it is the finest riding bike for the open road I have ever owned, hands down (Solo or 2 up). Have not owned anything but HD's so no other mfg comparison here.

Previous Bikes
Dyna
Soft Tail
Ultra Classic
Ultra Limited
Current CVO RG

Yes, I had to work my up to the 40K. But with each step up, the next one did not seem so bad.

Got mine for $40K OTD plus another $2K for the 7 year bumper to bumper. They had three in stock so I'm assuming they were ready to move them with the 16's on the way. I've never paid $40K for anything with wheels before so it still made my knees wobble!

Nicest motorcycle I've ever ridden though, no question about it... that's gotta be worth something I guess. ;)

All I can say is if you don't want one, don't ride one...or this can happen to you.

I've been spontaneous when it came to purchases as a younger man and I've wasted more than my share of money on two and four wheeled vehicles.  I actually considered myself more mature in purchases these past few years.
I guess I'm not as "grown up" as I thought I was  :)

To meet the terms of the thread, the price was a bit below MSRP.  They still have the Burgundy Blaze at the K'ville West store.  However, this blue one has been spoken for..... ;)

Congrats on the new bike-ride safe and enjoy!

May be up your way Saturday 7/25.  Its the kids birthday and she needs a set of tires bad on her car.  Have not decided if we're taking the bike or the car yet, depends on weather and how long we're visiting.

Haird/All,
I too was a batwing lover, and when I bought my '11 RGU, I liked the fairing but disliked so many things about the bike that I was ready to go back to a bat.  Then I saw the blue RGU at the Little Rock dealer.  And that's another thing...I didn't want to deal with Little Rock.  Didn't like 'em for some reason.  But they must have changed, cause daing they were downright wonderful...even before we talked money!
First to the reason for this thread.  Little Rock wanted $3k over MSRP.  I didn't say anything about it until the deal was almost shook on.  I was already happy with my trade, but then I asked them why the $3k bump.  They said it was "policy".  I told them to bump my already nice trade-in up by $3k and I'd get serious.  They came back and agreed.
The electra glide I totalled was cobalt blue.  I love blue, but had stayed away from blue anything for almost 5 years now, but when I saw mine and after they wheeled her outside on that bright sunny day, I knew it was time to go back to blue.
Congratulations, Haird.  You're going to love her!  Happy for you!

I'm in the market for a new CVO Road Glide.  I'm wondering what would be a fair discount off of sticker price to purchase a new 2015?  The 2016's are available for sticker (no dealer add on).  So it seems fair that the 15's should be sold for something less than their sticker price.  Any thoughts on what a fair discount number would be in buying a one year old bike, albeit a brand new one?

Simon, that would work IF the .99% applied to the CVO, trike or police vehicles.  Reading the small print, the CVO and trike lines are never included in the "special" financing offers from the MoCo..... >:(

Careful.   :nervous:   Last February, a group of us stopped at Sierra Vista Harley in Southern AZ.  One of the group wanted to buy their black and amber mist CVO Road Glide at a $2,500 discount which the dealership was offering.  We all thought that was a great deal for about 20 minutes until we realized that the offered "discount" was off of their $4,000 mark up over MSRP.    :huepfenlol2:

Yes.  And thanks for your help.  Here in Florida this weekend, we were a bit distracted by the approaching storm.  Fortunately Erika blew herself out.  Checking the market I have learned that a number of RGU's shipped late in the year and quite a few dealers have them in stock.  So while the price is good, similar pricing is available even closer to home.
