Last year I was looking at the 2017 Road King Special but it just felt too small. Then Jock took a picture of me on one at Harley's Daytona Bike Week booth and proved it to me. Either the Road King is too small or I'm too big for it.
Anyway, nothing like a Road Glide for a big man. And with the 2018 Road Glide Special going dark, Harley got my attention, some of my money and a big IOU to Eaglemark Savings Bank.

Congrats, Simon. Nice ride and addition to the stable, sir.

congrats, did you trade something in on it?

Congrats Simon...Good looking ride!!

No Trade. Just a straight up deal with a down payment and finance. I shopped a trade with my Galaxy Glide and all the shop were offering somewhere between clean trade value per book and possibly up to clean retail depending on the size of my purchase.
So I will likely post the Galaxy Glide for sale but I hope to do better than trade. I am hoping that there is someone out there who will love the idea of running around their town with a supercharger. I figure that whoever buys it would likely put their own paint on it. And if I don't get a decent offer on it, I'll just keep it in the stable and break it out for custom shows.
Also Neal (and Brad), I finally got the electrical issue fixed on the Galaxy Glide. It turns out that the LED lights in the tank shell had contacts that rubbed through the paint on the tank and it was shorting to ground. This caused some weird issues (as you witnessed) and a draw down on the battery. All fixed now. Thanks again for getting me on the road home from Maggie Valley in 2016.

14" Yaffe OEM Monkey Bars
Heated Grips
Edge Cut Mirrors and Control Levers
Kury Wind Deflector

Heavily customized 2009 Road Glide, my Galaxy Glide.

Great looking new ride Simon.
With Black Betty you've gone from The Galaxy to The ABYSS!
I'm not certain you can get any darker than that, but it will be fun trying. ;D
Enjoy & ride safe!

Just saw this thread Simon. As many things as I question about many of the new HD models and choices one of those things I don't is the look of the new Road Glides. Meaner, more aggressive and sportier looking all at the same time. Congrats and enjoy the new ride!
-
Simon, She is really looking good. Those are some nice improvements. I am very sure you will really enjoy her. Good work so far.

Kevin, he's being modest. He should have written it:
"Heavily customized 2009 Road Glide, my Galaxy Glide." with the emphasis on heavily... :2vrolijk_21:
By the way, Black Betty is looking good, Simon.

Congrats Simon, I would love to hear how the engine upgrade feels. I have been watching the upgrade kit from Fullsac at the 120 mark and its making good numbers as well. Or take the blower off the 09 and put on the new bike! LOL

I'll have to take your word on that. Unless he wants to show pictures of the Galaxy.

There is an entire subject thread on his purchase and build of the Galaxy Glide but upon checking, Photo Bucket was the source of his picture posting and they are holding all those photos "hostage". There are pictures splattered in other threads but some of those were posted using Photo Bucket also. May I say pictures do not do this bike justice but they do show all the work Simon put into it. It is you-neek... :2vrolijk_21:

I liked the Galaxy Glide so much :2vrolijk_21: I saved a picture... But I'm sure there are many more.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.
I have both a CVO King and a CVO Road Glide. They each have their advantages, but for several 700 plus mile days the Road Glide is the best.

Very Nice Simon! Congratulations buddy! :2vrolijk_21:

Gosh, what’s Simon up to now. It’s “PUZLIN”. Well no, not that extreme.

CVO Fender Fascia at a minimum. May try to keep the Tri-Bar along with the new CVO LEDs.
See what my paint and body guy can do for me.
In the meantime, I'll be working on the front by adding
1. Lowers with speakers
2. J&M XXRK Kit
3. XM Module
4. HD Daymaker Reflective LED Lights
And then just a bunch of extra nik-nak crap such as some Custom Dynamics lighting, hand guards, etc...

My winter project got delayed for 4 months but I'm glad to say I'm back at it. I think I've got the rear end just about completed.

Gonna find out on the trip to Maggie Valley.
-
Looks great, Simon. Hope the shocks work well for you. I've been pondering on the supershox for a while now.
Did you put rear speakers on your tourpac? I'm working with skunk rider on his tourpac project using his recent purchase....putting the LED lightbar and rear speaker pods on it. Then on to Joe for paint match. We may upgrade his stereo in the process, too.
Safe travels to the valley, sir....keep it between the ditches
