Hello from Gremlush
« on: August 07, 2007, 10:15:23 AM »

My name is Dewey {Dewey's Custom} and I have been riding and wrenching  on H-D's since the late 60s. Just bought a NEW S.E. springer {2007} . For those of you that don't know me , I do head porting and down the road ,will be porting mine. I have ported 2 sets of the 110 heads already. NICE heads. I always modify the valves and put ALOT of attention in a 4 angle seat cut. I am not trying to sell anything ! Don't do that many heads anymore , mostly just a hobby ! Too old ! So far I have installed a Zippers air filter ,it stick out 5/8 inch wider ,BUT, the stock filter has a rubber doughtnut on it that is 1/2" thick ,so when you do a Zippers ,the cover is in the same postion. There is a thick washer inside of the air cleaner cover with 3 spot welds and you need to 'grind' the welds and take the washer out. Have removed the screen on the end of my baffle and punched a 1" hole thru it. Good sound ,not loud at low rpm. Starting to run better, but this is the tightest motor I have ever owned !!! Have 900 miles on it and the motor is off before you get the key all the way turned ! WOW. Anyway , hope I can help with some of your questions.

Great to have you aboard Dewey! It'll be good to see what an old school wrench does with this new fangled design. A lot of very unique components and issues on the 110's. Plenty of good info here on what we've found/done to date. It'll be interesting to see if you come up with something new on your own. Hint, do I hear bigger TB anyone? Good luck with your new bike and enjoy the site! Hoist! 8)

Thank you for a warm welcome. I used to be 1 of the 3 amigo's {grock, doc, silverbullet} on the v-twin forum, but got tired of all the new guys that know everything ! The 1 set of 110 heads I did {2007} pulled 128 hp. and 127 tq. with a Andrews 67 cams, Rinefart drag pipes. 10.5 - 1 comp. with flat tops. Guy is suppose to send me the dyno. There are alot of dyno's on my web site www.deweyspegs.com that people send to me.

Howdy Dewey, and welcome to CVO Harley!!  I've heard of you and know of your great work.  I think it is great to have an "old school" wrench on board.  I'm certain you will field many questions around here.  Again, welcome, and it is awesome to have you on board with us.
